AP map MS intake?
Does anyone out there have an AP map that works with an MS intake?
i've just recently come to certain realizations. :banghead: |
I have never tried running the Cobb Stage 1 map with my AEM (cause I bought my AP from MM), but a forum member here in CO did and it was very lean (14s at WOT)!
If you are going to buy an AP purchase from MM and he will take care of you! Thats what I did and I am all grins :) |
your probably not screwed any more then 1/2 the people who tried using the Cobb Base maps. If your not using a MM accessport, post up some data and maybe some people will help out
|
I thought it was not good to use other people's maps?

Scale the MAF!
You should be ok - you just have to scale everything correctly. |
I'm using the AEM(Mazdaspeed) intake and my fuel trims are better now than they were with the stock intake. Initially I thought my AFR's were off because they were rich at WOT but that ended up being the normal factory settings. I ran the Cobb stage 1 map before the AEM and after with no problems. It seems that some cars like that map and some hate it.

I have not tried the stage 1 map with my CAI because that's outside the map notes (learned too late). But if some people are running it with no problem, i'll give it a try and just try to make sure my afrs stay above 12 or so I guess. Is that right? What year is your car, po snake?
Regarding scaling the MAF, Kane, i'm just getting started really learning what I need to learn. I was sort of hoping your MAF tool would automate me a map that would work. Any tips that can be offered are appreciated. as to using other's maps, i don't think it matters provided the hardware is the same. I wouldn't want to run, say, Kane's map on my car. But racing beat flashes the ecu the same for every rx8 and so does the cobb stage 1. So unless the map is highly specialized, like for use with a turbo, i don't see why it would matter. I could be wrong though. |
Yeah I'll be putting that out as soon as I can.

 it will go down in history as one of the awesomist things you ever did. for some it would be the awesomist thing, for you i suspect there's some awesomer things you've done. nevertheless, it'll be awesome.

How close are you to Panama City or Sarasota?
I can use you as the beta this weekend. |
5 hrs. hmmm.
|
I'll be in Sarasota over the weekend - and PC for the next few months.... PM me if you are in that big of a hurry and are willing to make the Drive to Sarasota.
Otherwise - I am hoping to have the beta software out by the end of may... of course the beta doesn't come with my boyish good looks and a beer or two.... :D |

i'm not in a huge hurry, i guess, but boyish looks and beer are too enticing to pass up ... as long as chris hanson doesn't show up  and sarasota is only 2.5 hrs away. this could definitely work. i'll check with the wifey in the morning and pm you.
awesomerer |
Werd - looks like Swoope might be there too.
Let me know man. I am getting on a plane in like 2 hours. |

|

So are we all down for Saturday then? Let's lock it in!
|
locked and loaded, sir!

ok back from the dead! I have always been under the impression the AEM and MS intakes were the only intakes you could slap on and go with the AP. Is this not so? My car is fully tuned by jeff with an afr in the ^12's so going leaner is no bueno. I'm all out of tunning time and will not pay to start all over and deal with the tunning issues for another year for just a stupid intake. What's the deal??
|
/\ changing the intake tract will require and benefit from a re-tune.
|
OP, i have one that works, and a maf scale too. ;)
