I am in europe right now and need to read codes will this scanner work?

If you've got a smart phone, get an ELM327 adapter and download a phone app.

hmmmm don't have one here ...but is the obd2 scanner good would it work ?

I bought an expensive OBD2 reader from Canadian Tire and it works fine. Probably should have just got the Bluetooth one. Oh well.

RX-8 is not a German car so just about any OBD2 scanner should work. Maybe not some manufacturer-specific codes, but for common codes it should be sufficient.

Do you have a laptop? There are usb OBD readers and open source reading software like wOBD.

In fact I guess a Bluetooth scanner would work equally well with a phone or laptop.

Does anyone know if the newer S2 codes are read by all of these readers? I'm looking at specifically the OCV and OMP faults that were added per ASH8's old post....does anyone have experience with a scanner that cna read these?

Late to this thread, but: I use Torque App and an ELM327 for OBD codes. To read ECUs other than the Engine Control like ABS codes I use this one:
