RX8Club.com - DIY: Heat / Air Conditioning Quick Fix

OK, so many of us have had the problems with either the heat not working, or the cold / air conditioning not working. There are a LOT of great DIY's on how to fix these problems, but I thought I would post my "Quick Fix" for how I am currently changing from cold to hot when the car decides not to on its own.

It's very simple - If its blowing cold and you want hot, turn it to hot, and hold it on hot as far as you can (Put pressure in that direction to where you cannot spin anymore, it will actually be able to go slightly more than if you were just putting it to full hot). If you hold it like this for a few seconds, it will start blowing hot. Letting go right away will not solve the problem though, you will have to keep holding the knob turned to the max for a period of time - I have had to hold it for sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes a little longer.

To do the exact opposite for temps, follow the exact same directions.

Basically, when you put it to hot/cold and the temp doesn't go there, you can turn the knob manually just a slight bit more, but the knob will not hold itself there, which is why you have to hold it. This little trick has been working for me since I bought the car.

Hopefully this isn't a re-post, but, to be perfectly honest, I never read through ever single thread on this issue to see if the OP used the same method or not. Hopefully this works for you though! Good luck! :fingersx:

EDIT: I will be posting a video here within a day showing how I do it. Obviously you wont be able to (Hopefully not) feel the heat / cold, but it will give you a better idea of how its working for me.
