Momo usually come with adapters that make it fit. You should just look into voodoo shift knobs. The voodoo knobs screw right on and look alot better too.

I honestly don't understand peoples' facination with 'MOMO' I hate the company simply because I think the name 'peach' is silly.

Most if not all Momo's knobs are universal. How it works is it usually has a fairly large hole that slide right on to the gear shaft. Then its secure by 2-3 small allan screws from the side on the lower part of the knob. And wat it does is usually demaging the screw threads on the gear shaft.

As you know our gear knob is screw right on to the gear shaft, so are most other Mazda's makes. And the voodoo's are so popular is because they are made to fit the Mazdas. Screw right on.

So if dont intend to use back the original knob, by all mean, you can try the Momos.

I have a wooden Momo knob in my Miata. I love the knob, but was horrible as/is, with its "universal" install method. There is a device called the tight fit adapter, for around $19 bucks. That makes this knob PERFECT! The adapter uses the same thread pitch as the RX-8 shifter, so it threads right on.

here is the knob I use

I put it on the RX-8 for a while to see if I liked it.
This particular knob needs a little more weight, to match the feel of the stock 8 knob.
You can add lead ballast under the top metal part to achieve this.

MOMO has the brand marketing, - "Hell, it's in a F1 Ferrari, I gotta get that"
It's all over racing marketing and even video games...

I am a fan of Voodoo's too / top quality, MOMO's selection is just overwhelming...

I don't understand the peach reference, please explain.

Is momo "peach" in another language?

Momo = "peach" in Japanese.

I think its a bit absurd to have the word "peach" plastered all over your car.

Voodoo is definitely the way to go. Just installed a Pearl Magnum on my 8 and it is awesome.
