will usa Racing Beat REVi fit uk rx8?

Just want to know if i order this from the us will it fit my uk rx8? Its a lot cheaper in the us.

As long as the air box is positioned on the right-hand side (looking from the front of the car), I don't see why it wouldn't.

O'Renesis 02-07-2009 05:00 PM

The Revi air filter box does fit perfect. No issues with the air box but the revi Ram Air Duct is less than a perfect fit. The supplied brackets are not the correct size but not sure if RB has updated them since my purchase.

ok, so the usa revi will fit uk mode, I think. do i need to fit the ram air duct? is it essential for the revi intake?

Mazurfer 02-07-2009 06:25 PM

The duct is not essential.
If I were you, I'd jump on the RB website and shoot them an E-mail. The probably would be able to supply the right brackets for the duct.......if you wish to have it. Oh......and I would get it. Actually, I think the combo is on sale right now on the website. :)

I have emailed them, thanks for the info, thats a bargin! Have you got both? wht the sound like? I don't want somthing too over the top but i want some change. How about performance, any change?

Mazurfer 02-07-2009 07:05 PM

I have both.
Sound is not much different than stock until you get on the throttle. Even then it's not loud.......I didn't want loud. I just wanted to have a better sound, I can tell by the questions you asked that you would be happy with it. I honestly can't rememberwhat a stock one sounds like, it's been so long. I have a crappy pic of my engine bay here somewhere, these were to show the catch can, but you can see the Revi box and MAF tube in the lower right. The only issue, and not really an issue...............is getting the filter out for cleaning. It's really not that bad, but it's not just popping off a couple of clips. Thank goodness you don't have to do it that often anyway.

looks like i will be ordering soon then!!!looks great, sorry, but i am fairly new to moddding whats the mini blue air filter on the left? it looks like a mini induction kit.

Mazurfer 02-07-2009 07:40 PM

Rather than return the hose back to the intake after the catch can, most people just put filters on the other side of the catch can for venting(if you will) and keep the oil vapors out of the intake where it can gum up the throttle valve over time.

O'Renesis 02-08-2009 04:25 AM

I think you will like the sound of this air box, louder than stock at full throttle but not too loud. I did inform Racing Beat about the Ram Duct brackets and they seemd surprised that the duct brackets needed to be longer and also that the intake opening is not a perfect match with our front top opening.
This is a photo of the bracket with the supplied bracket on the right, http://i510.photobucket.com/albums/s...tbracket-1.jpg
It was a simple matter to make 2 new brackets.
Here is a photo of the front air intake opening, http://i510.photobucket.com/albums/s...tfitment-1.jpg
I have drawn a rough outline as to where the Revi Air Duct opening is located.
It seems to not matter as there is still enough of an opening for any ram effect, I think? but either way it certainly will allow plenty of cold air to enter.
Photo of box during install, http://i510.photobucket.com/albums/s...ReviAirBox.jpg

and if you are ordering from Racing Beat do mention that it is for a UK model RX-8, as they may have made some modifications for that model.

Mazurfer 02-08-2009 06:57 AM

Well.....it was quite a bit off wasn't it? Brackets were longer than I expected when I looked at your pics.
Wonder if it's Euro models or whether it was just yours? Guess we will know when he gets his.

O'Renesis 02-08-2009 07:06 AM

My car is the same as the UK model. Irish and UK Rx8's where imported by the same company at that time.
The reason for the different lenght brackets is that the USA front bumper reinforcing bar is larger than the Euro models. The bit I don't understand is why the front top opening is not matching with the Revi Duct opening? That is to say, it appears as if the USA bumper cover has different size openings than the Euro model?

this isn't the SAME oil vapors to be combusted again to reduce emissions and lower crankcase temperature build-up and pressure, is it?

that mod doesn't seem to really work, for me. i guess if overfilling the motor with oil is an issue, then thats already a problem...

when is having a negative pressure in the crankcase a BAD thing?
if anything, its hard to have enough or more.

To each his own.....it's a matter of opinion(like everything else).
You can still get blow back into the intake even without overfilling, then you run the risk of it gumming up your SSV valve over time, so pick your posion. It can actually blow back into the airbox and make a mess of your air filter.
On the 06's and later that hose doesn't run to the intake anymore, it runs down to the rear maintenance ports.

Oh.................nobody touches my car but me, so it doesn't EVER egt overfilled! :)

As said, the REVi will fit like OEM but the Duct is alot of fixing to get it to fit.

But its worth it in the end.

Predator123 09-11-2014 04:31 PM

Sorry for mega-bumping this thread but I feel like I have to.

I have a non-US model and I'm having the fitment issues reported in the thread where the brackets don't reach. Is it okay to have the duct mounted with just the top bracket? It felt like it was quite solid.

Going to send Racing Beat an email later and see if they have a solution.

foo77 09-13-2014 05:56 AM

As for the intake it will fit like OEM but the duct need custom bracket for it
