Wierd issue with RB intake

Ever since my car semi flooded/shut down/ or whatever happened last weekend there's been something really wierd going on.

Every other time I turn on my car it sounds like I have a stock intake. There's no throatiness. But then when I shut down and the next time I turn on it sounds like I have a RB intake(sounds throaty)....

It keeps alternating every drive.

At first I thought it was all in my head. Paranoia from what happened last weekend... But I just wanted to make sure there is no way something like this could happen. Hopefully everything is in my head

Under normal idle it should sound completely stock; mine does. It's only when the revs start to go up that I can hear the difference between stock and the RB intake, although now that I have the RB CAI installed it's not as noticable inside the car. It still sounds great under full throttle acceleration though. :)

Is there a difference between temps; hot/cold, time of day (first thing in the morning, etc.) when you start the car and it sounds like this?

Try reseting the ecu In case you dont know how

press and hold the trip odometer button turn car to accessory with the key, hold trip odometer button until the odometer says "test" turn car off

then

turn key to accessory press brake pedal 20 times fast and the oil pressure gague will move up then back down. turn car off

now you reset the ecu. See is this helps

Those are just procedures to test the gages and reset eccentric shaft memory.

your secondaries may not be opening. Lost of power?

Disconnect negative battery terminal for at LEAST 2 hours. Reinstall, Hopefully
it will reset everything. If your secondaries are stuck, take it to the
dealer.

i can only hear the throatiness of my revi and duct at high rpms or with alot of throttle

Good that's the way they made it. If you want loud get something that doesn't work for HP gain like a KN

most of the times it's on the first drive of the day when it sounds off.

And yes, I am aware that when idle it's at a normal sound. And it "turns on" when revving.

I did the reinstall the other day, and it sounded ok this morning on my first drive.

And taking it to the dealer is not an option. They'll blame the secondaries on the intake, void warranty then charge an arm and a leg to fix.

Also. How would I know if the secondaries failed?

when you say you restart the car, are you restarting it warm?

when you flooded the dealer likely updated your PCM flash, which could be running cold idle maps leaner. i noticed with my canzoomer that the air/fuel mixture plays quite a role in the tone of the motor.

never took it to the dealer.

hmm...if the car drives ok, it could just be a placebo...or maybe the LTFT was reset at some point, although AFAIK that doesn't effect startup maps.

as long as it sounds good at WOT you're cool lol.
