Where to find rear exhaust spring w/ bolt?

I've lost one of the 2 spring loaded bolts for the rear pipe and cant seem to find them online anywhere.

A search pulled up the replacement bolt via this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ht=spring+bolt

But I need the spring as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-m

the dealer unless someone has one lying around

Part # YJ15-40-582 , about $6 msrp

the bolt/stud is Part # B31R-40-584, about $12 msrp from the dealer

the nut that holds the bolt/stud to the flange is Part # 9991-61-000

the nut that tightens the spring to the flange is Part # 9994-01-003

you can also try going to a dealer and ask if there are any RX8's getting their Cat replaced. they use all new hardware so just ask if you can have the old ones. i did this and they gave them to me for free. just a suggestion.

Since this is still the first google result for "rx8 exhaust spring bolt" I figure it's worth bumping with this info:

I bought the Mazda OEM exhaust springs and studs with part numbers: YJ15-40-582A and B31R-40-584 respectively.

The stud is threaded M10-1.25 on both sides.

More interesting is the hex nut size on the stud.
13mm socket will fit it, but there is a lot of slop possibly because of the curved corners on the hex.

A 1/2 inch, deep socket, is a far superior fit (see picture).

Anyway, hope this helps somebody not pay ~$45 for the OEM parts like I did.

I will edit this post when I do the install later on this week with any problems I run into.

EDIT: Keeping with my promise: the installation went reasonably well. I used a Magnaflow 23909 for my new cat/silencer setup.
It's worth noting that the shorter threaded side of the spring bolt is intended to screw into the cat/silencer pipe. The 23909 is not threaded in these holes and the flange is thick enough that only ~2 threads end up protruding on the other side of the flange hole. I simply turned the bolt around and used the longer threaded side to secure it to the flange. Problem solved.

Autozone sells the stud and spring that works in the DIY section for a few bucks.
