What mods do I do first?

whats up guys? Yeah, I am new. Three days deep on my Rx-8. I need an exhaust system. What kind are out there?

And I know nothing about rotary engines. Any suggestions on getting a few more ponies?

Are there any body kits?

Just give me a general survey of some available mods, I will do a search once I find my way around the forum, but I figure this way i will get a feel for how things go around these parts.

Btw, I havent had a car since my '91 Dodge Stealth, so here is what I do in my spare time.

sorry dick factor high,

great car, just look through the post and use the search button. not a lot of cheap power to be had.

exhaust sounds as mods are for the most part a sensory thing.

hp gains right now are hard to come buy.

beers

congrats on your 8. Just keep in mind some people on this forum have something stuck in their butts. But most are nice, so don't pay attention to the rudeness. just do a search: exhaust, canzoomer, body kit, turbo, intake, wheels,...and you're pretty much done :)

Suspension mods, so you can hand with bikes in the twisties.

1) Greddy E-Manage Biggest bang-for-the-buck add-on there is at the moment (short of nitrous oxide, which I still hate). Period.

2) BB Mid-Pipe Second biggest bang-for-the-buck power adder.

Mlino01... nice '04 Mille R. Gotta love the rotax V-Twin and the '04 bodystyle just rocks! A better deal than the $30k Ducati 999R, or even the 999S.

BUT... Italian bike maintenance and reliablilty... it's like the cars. :(

Opps forgot the RX-8 related info

eManage is a good deal, but not for the newbie or faint of heart. Manic has good detailed insructions for those willing to take the plunge.

Canzoomer ECU... like an MS product, but not (thank God!)... plug and play.

Replace cat... mid-pipe or high flow/high temp cat. They say unplugged rotaries are LOUD... so maybe a cat. w/ resonator is a good idea.

Intake... even accoring to Racing Beat... it makes hp (at least at the top end). BUt in exchange for about 10hp, you take 90db at WOT.

Flywheel... a lighter flywheel is not too bad an investment. There are various ones out there... Mazdaspeed, SR Motorsports, ACT...

Plug wires...Nology Hotwires they were great on my Suzuki SV bike. There is a thread from someone who installed them. Not necessarily a hp improvement, but engine ran smoother they say...

And for the moment that's all she wrote. Turbo and supercharger kits are on the way... they just void your warranty..t
