were to buy titanium piping

I was wondering were i can buy titanium piping at. it will be for my turbo project and custom exhaust as well.

Ti tubing under 2" is easy, anything larger and mandrel bends in any size is the deal killer

just use 18 gauge stainless steel instead; Type 321 for the manifold and Type 304 from the downpipe back

however. for a turbo app the lowest weight isn't always a prime consideration over cost and ease of fabrication

Could someone explain what the benefit of using ti besides weight loss?

Less radiant heat. Far less. High performance bikes use Ti mostly for that reason, although a few less lbs never hurt either.

the difference is minimal at best, it's mostly weight

and Ti just hit with another price increase from the mill, bring your gold reserves to buy some

if your talking the header, stainless steel or inconel is a better choice then titanium

HeavyMetal699 05-16-2008 06:35 PM

Titanium headers? Is there a chance it would catch on fire?

TeamRX8 05-24-2008 12:39 PM

no, but they will crack, Ti is a poor choice for high heat headers, use light gauge T321 stainless or Inconel instead

I'd listen to Teamrx8
