Unichip or Canzoomer

Hi everyone! I just got my Black RX-8 GT a couple weeks ago and have started to look for some performance mods. I've read a lot about the Canzoomer but there hasn't been much said about the Unichip unit. Most people claim the Canzoomer gives about 20hp if it gets tuned for your specific car and you have other mods (intake/exhaust), but then after the newer ECU flashes that gain is less (Unichip also?). There is a graph on the Unichp site that says it to gives close to 20hp (with other mods), can anyone else back this claim up? Also, I heard that Corksport helped with the tuning of the Unichip unit, and given their reputation I'm thinking this is a good thing. I think they are about the same price, so which one would you guys recommend?

Anyways other performance mods to come in the very near future are the Revi intake w/ram air, and either the RB or Corksport Exhaust (can't decide, both have about the same HP gains, RB is quieter and CS is lighter weight...any comments?).

Anyways thanks in advance. Damn, I love this car!!!

takahashi got a Unichip... overall I don't think he was as impressed as he'd hoped... see his review here:

At WOT there is not much of a gain but most gain is that mid throttle. All gains are in open loop since it is the only thing they have tuned.

My $0.02.

BTW I tuned by the head tuner at APS in Melbourne... so there you go. Some of you may have met him in SEMA last year :)

Thanks for the replies! Hmmm....it still seems like a hard decision.

Yes they do 20 throttle position at 20 rpm points for me. I think but the Unichip is capable of doing 32x32
