Just got off the phone with injen, and as far as the guy that I talked to knows is that the little foam piece is just packing material. The little pipe itself is fooling the maf by taking air in it pass the maf, but he told me to email him a link to this thread and he was going to get injen manufacturers or something like that to chime in on this.

I thought it was pretty clearly stated. So I will go on to clarify for anyone who didn't catch it....

The foam piece inside of the intake was just packing material.

we good?

Yes there is a large increase over stock intake.

The dyno will be posted soon.

Unfortunately, fuel trims are dictated by the front O2 sensor, not the MAF. Eventually the high load high RPM cells in the LTFT table are going to kill any initial benefit the intake offers in terms of power at WOT. Also, if what you say is true then it is possible to run into a too-lean situation at WOT upon initial installation of the intake which could lead to "bad things," especially if you have a custom tune that leans out the fuel mixture already.

Hate to be a killjoy, but there are no "large increases" to be had over the stock intake. Quite simply, it flows more than enough air for our engine. I'm not bashing people who buy an after-market intake (I recently installed one on my own car), but lets be realistic about what we're really getting out of it. And to those interested in the Injen that have an AccessPort: please be careful, and have your MAF tuned appropriately ASAP

agree with what RE said - in fact I would even go as far as to say BS on the hp claims .
And anyone who has done any tuning on an 8 knows there is nothing to gain at low rpm by changing the fuel ratio ....
flame away

i can have the dyno for an hour for 100 bucks. If i get a reasonable amount of people interested and it gets close I would shell a few bucks out myself I guess.

What the hell are you talking about?

I wasn't even talking to you. And who says I'm arguing?

Why am I reading this thread? Cause it's about a new product for our car, and the topic is about opinion, not dyno results.

And no, I can care less about seeing a damn dyno on just an intake.

It's just an intake... Up to date, an intake ALONE has brought what? Just a few horses? It's not new news or anything. Everyday people are asking about how much power an intake will bring, and its always gonna be the same.

So STFU!
