Question The Ultimate N/A setup for the 8

I'm looking for personal opinions and or factual accounts of what everyone thinks the best naturally aspirated set for the RX-8 would be i.e the best exhaust, headers, intake suspension etc. Later.

This is like "what is the best exhaust" without even specifying a part. I guess this is just a "what is best" thread which most would consider entirely too broad to answer.

seriously? There isn't ONE best setup. A lot of people have had varying success with different combonations of parts. If there was one setup garranteed to get you 210-rwhp all motor, then a company would probably sell it as a kit.

That's not bad AKR, but I think this might be better suited for his needs....

First you want to get one of these since we all know the RX8 is not very fuel friendly:

I wouldn't recommend buying it from here though. Try getting a tin can and just making it yourself.

Next, you want to go with one of these for a better sounding exhaust:

If it doesn't fit, don't worry. It's ok. Just knock out any black plastic around your bumper that is restricting the pipe and install away.

Last, you'll need a new intake filter:

There ya go, that should do the trick.

All these together should get the job done. Let us know how it goes and show us some pics. Go get em tiger!

actually the higher miles you put on these things the stronger the engine gets its been proven with new dyno vs 40k+ mileage dynos. so a 2006 with 1k miles on it isnt going to perform better than a 2004 with 60k miles on it thats been taken care of unless they are both auto

2004 auto has less hp than the 2006 so in that case the 2006 would be the better upgrade in engine as he stated

this is a SUPER vague question since we dont' know exactly what your personal tastes are. Here's my best attempt:

- Intake (pick your favorite, I'm partial to Racing Beat)
- Exhaust (pick the one that SOUNDS best, performance differences are minnimal)
- Axial Flow Short Shifter . An amazing mod all M/T owners should look into
- RP supercat
- Suspension upgrade. (depends on how much you want to spend) You can do simple spring / strut combo such as Koni / S-Tech or HKS coilovers.

there are a few things out there that not really give it a great performance boost but make the car more enjoyable to drive and a little bit of performance. i have do have a pulley, suspension redone, RP short shifter , lighter flywheel, tuned and full exhaust.

this was my setup awhile back and then i was able to take 06 mustang GT's at the track barely but it was able to.

Pick up the latest Turbo Mag. That has the ultimate NA that I know of.

FD rotor housings
Panhead Apex seals
Custom built intake w/ twin throttles
HUGE injectors
Peripheral port
Motec engine management

Of course with that p-port, dont expect to drive that thing anywhere you might have to stop anywhere.

Thanks. What I was asking for was people's personal opinions on what they would do to, add on, or replace on the 8 to get the best N/A setup. I was just looking for various combinations of parts and procedures.
