the ultimate cheat article

ok so there this article in the august 05 issue of f alchohol injection..i dont know if this has been posted before but here it goes. it syas you can run big boost on pump gas because the kit lowers the detonation threshold of the engine by cooling the charge air and raising the effective octane value of the gasoline. it is done in a evo but the bottom is built up too with other mods. the kit itself, " its a really amazing kit and its super stealth. its a preinstalled into the intercooler spray tank bottle. its a progressive controller and adjustable and it can use everyday winshield wiper fluid. the microprocessor- based unit automatically increase spray pressure as boost rises it allows you to set the boost level you want to begin spraying and will indicate when spray is at max pressure ""
END STATE the 4g63 pumped out 443.2 whp at 23psi ... they say you would expect about 390whp without the kit

i bring this up for the greddy owners n stuff... is this concrete??? can you rasie the actane level with winshield wiper fluid???? ROTORY GOD could you help please

As a simple answer yes you can raise the octane level with simple washer fluid. This is because it contains alot of alcohol. 100% pure ethanol alcohol is 110 octane. This definitely makes it more resistant to knock. However where the stoichiometric a/f ratio for gas is 14.7:1, the stoich ratio for ethanol is around 9:1. While it can be made to work just as simply as the article states, just remember that if you are running more boost since you havve this feature, you will run out of alcohol when you need it the most and that is at full throttle. Bad idea. This is more suited for drag racing as the runs are quick. I don't ever like the idea of using a product that lets me push my engine harder but then runs out when I absolutely need it the most. This as with water injection may have their places on a race track but I personally don't like them on the street. There will those that disagree with me but there are also those people out there who don't drive with insureance either. Just because you can do something and get away with it for a while doesn't make it a good idea. Do not use this as a means to raise boost on any turbo kit out there that is used for primarily street use.

the kit comes with a monitering and testing device because it stated something the same as far as running out.

i just wanted to put that out there... wouldnt it be cheaper to run this system then bying octane booster on fiil ups

In the long term maybe but I'd rather just correctly tune a properly designed turbo kit that fits my goals. That seems to be the safest thing to me.
