is TurboXS exhaust for me??

I searched, read tons of threads, watched tons of videos but I need to find out without wading through ALL that data. So don't give me crap about it.

Anyway,

Trying to find out if this is right for me. TurboXS is the cheapest catback system and I want some more "oomff" (Umph?) sound out of the car.

Things I don't want are: Drone, Farty, ricey sound. I don't want to sound like a weed wacker going down the street.

I will most likely (95% sure) keep my cat on unless changing out the pipe with the cat isn't a very time consuming process (less than an 30 minutes)

I am look to just get a nice sound out of the car without paying an arm and a leg for it.

I know TurboXS is located in MD, do they have a store front or is it buy from authorized dealers only?

yes.....but are those bolts all going to be a pain to remove and then get the thing out and put the other one in without having to tear apart other parts of the car? Things like my under brace stuff, I really don't want to have to remove that a bunch of times to get something on there.

edit... that was a tad harsh.

Why can't people even attempt to be helpful sometimes?

turbo xs catback with a mazsport or bhr midpipe will sound sexy, no droney, fartey, ricey sound. Turbo xs midpipe is way to loud and droney

whats funny is the vendor says it won't drone, but everyone seems to say it will. Even with the cat on, will it or will it not drone or sound ricey?

Do you have to remove the cross members to get these things on?

I think drone is some what more important to me because this is my dd so drone will give me a splitting headache.

The unansweed questions are
Do yu need to remove the mesmber brace to install?

Will it sound ricey with cat or without a nice mod pipe?

If not what are the alternatives that fit my criteria for a cat back?

I had it on without the midpipe and it did not drone. With their midpipe it does.

So you would suggest a mid pipe from another company or keep that cat on?

I'd suggest a BHR or mazsport midpipe. I ran the mazport midpipe with the catback and the sound was amazing. From sound clips I've heard the BHR midpipe is very similar to the mazsport one. The setup has a very nice mellow and deep tone from the lower rpms up to the midrange, which is perfect for cruising. After that it screams, but no annoying ricey sound.

looks like I should not have to take off the member braces if I don't remove the cat.

So....

Could I reasonbly use the cat, midpipe given by XS and the catback and not be ricey droney?

You can use the catback with the stock cat no problem, it'll sound nice. But lets say you will be upgrading your ignition and getting a Cobb, the mipipe is a must have
Removing the braces is less then 5 minutes btw. Two braces, two bolts for each.

whole installation should take less than an hour to include the midpipe (provided your bolts arent locked in place by rust or something).

And no you wont sound ricey.

My suggestion is find someone who is close to you with the exhaust set up and see how it sounds in person

I have a different member brace so it is slightly more complicated by like 2 bolts which are annoying to remove.

Thats really all I was looking for, if I keep the Cat and just use the Catback it sounds good OR if I remove the cat and use a dual res pipe + catback it will sound good or some kind of combination of that.

Thank you for being helpful.

I think at first I would just keep the cat on regardless.

fark...

Is there anyone in NOVA that has one of these things on their car? I really need to hear it in person. I would prefer with CAT on but I guess it doesn't matter.

I need to hear how loud it is.

I think everyone keeps suggesting that you run a midpipe because in your OP you said you want more power. A cat back alone wont really do that. Replacing the midpipe is where you can get what little power is available in the exhaust, however any catless midpipe will make the car louder.

I have the exhaust with oem cat. It isn't loud. But if you are worried about sound throw down the money and get the racing beat exhaust.

The dual res midpipe tones down the sound of a catback to the point of you stock cat but makes it sound more exotic.

Anyhow, TurboXS is pretty much your best option for cheap and deeper sound. Racingbeat makes the almost the exact same midpipe that Mazsport used to, BHR make only the single res.
