torque dampners
anyone here using them? cant seem to find any threads on these but if u are please give me ur opinions on them..

what torque?
|
lol i know but for the ones who are boosted wont theese somewat help a little?? i know plenty of hondas use them and i know they dont have any torque either lol
well anyways i found a site with them and for the money it seems pretty good http://www.mazdaspeedstore.com/mazda...-06-p-102.html |
reduces wheel hop=better traction=faster acceleration
|
haha staticlag it might help your car with your 4.77 gearing and turbo ;)

Oh
My GOD ! thats the weapon-R shit, this is even WORST, its weapon-R's copy cat !!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD ! A self-contained electrometric shock that mounts on brackets between the engine and the chassis. It reduces extreme engine movement and dampens the motion, providing many benefits. Benefits Greatly improved off-the-line acceleration Reduced wheel hop Improved vehicle stability Reduced shock loads on driveline components Smoother shifting Reduced wear on exhaust system joints Less vibration transmission to the driver compared to polyurethane motor mounts. Less shock load, compared to torque straps and chains. Drifting – helps reduce shock loads when wheels gain traction. Reduces motor movement – decreases the chance of motor parts rubbing against the hood and frame. ALL Engine Torque Damper Kits are design to install on vehicles with STOCK Engines Only. These Kits are NOT compatible with engine swaps. |
whats an "electrometric shock"?

You don't need a torque damper. The engine hardly moves as it is. If you want to eliminate engine movement, buy a set of the Mazsport motor mounts. and feel the vibrations |
Dave - you forgot to mention the one sitting on my bench. Its metric, I think. Cost only $20, though, so It might dampen too much torque.
The only reason I haven't installed it is it doesn't have neon. Oh, and I can't figure out what to attach it to that won't get ripped out of the car by all the torque. I'm thinking the driver's left thigh. |
Im pretty sure a lot of people *fell* into that kind of crap.
oh well. |
I got my cheapie (who would pay $100+ for this?) for bling, but it is useless.
Its just two Heim joints screwed into a tube with a plastic insert. |
im stupid enough to buy this........i know nothing about suspensions......so this thing is crap i guess???

(For me, I would rather keep that 100 something bucks in my pocket tho) next time I guess you should've search before you buy anything (or at least ask) ;) |
u know what i rather spend $140 on something useless like this than $400 on a useless intake for our cars.. some people make me laugh im sure this piece is useless but so arent intakes and exhausts for these cars and thoose items are way more that $140.. but i guess alot of people "FELL" for the claimed 12 hp the intake gives u and the claimed 20 hp a exhaust gives u.. o wait how about the people who spend $300+ on a mazdaspeed strut bar?? (i must add that piece is rather nice but useless)

Not stiffer rear links but a stiffer rear swaybar. Then, you don't want to disurb the otherwise excellent balance of the car so you should get a front swaybar, too.
|
thanks
|
I think you can use them for the hood?
Ha ha........... |
point of interest---have you ever seen how much the shifter moves under full throttle at high speed in a high G turn. This thing would not help that but a better trans support would.
oscd |
I think speedsource sells solid front motor mounts and solid differential mounts.
This would mount the drivetrain directly to the frame and stop all shifter movement. Most people just get the solid engine mounts and forget about the non-solid differential mounts still in there. |
I am afraid the solid ones may be a little to solid for a daily driver--maybe not---havent seen a car with them yet.
Just wanted to point out that the drivetrain has more movement that some may thing during certain circumstances. oscd |
