Tikkos Racing Twister exhaust

Does anyone know how to get the Tikkos Racing Twister exhaust?

I've found only one thread really that refers to it, and I haven't seen anything else..

Can anyone tell me more info about it? I've already shot an email to Tikkos Racing to see if I can import it.

Tikkos uses fiber glass pack.
I believe with high heat from rotary engine, they won't last long.

That may be true, but that cat is the brand that TeamRX8 says is blow out proof.

Fiber glass pack for the exhaust system? Where did you get this info?

It shows both lines of mufflers are fiberglass lined

Thanks, didn't occur to me to check each of the parts making up the exhaust. I only saw the main RX-8 page they provide. But you mentioned that TeamRX8 has said this exhaust set is blow out proof? Is the reason why there are so few threads about this exhaust because it's harder to acquire?

alnielsen 06-04-2009 12:52 AM

Team imported that JHS cat. He said the cat would survive the heat of a rotary engine. I don't know about the resonator or mufflers. At first look, it would seem that they won't survive.

There are so few threads because the product isn't available to most of the people on this site.

Well, I'm more than willing to test out the catback. I'm not gonna take out my cat until I go FI, so I'm purchasing the catback system. As I said, I've contacted Tikkos, and here is their reply:

Hi Jing,
Please find enclose the Mazda RX8 exhaust system with details.
We can export any piece of the system you want separately.
The Ex-Work prices Cyprus are (without transport expenses):
115127C 270.00euros
115127-WC 166.00euros
115127-M 63.00euros
125852T 240.00euros

Just to take an idea about the transport expenses:
For the full system (115127C+115127-M+125852T) the transport by EMS (delivery in few days) cost 265.00euros and by SAL (delivery in approx. 2 weeks) cost 130.00euros.

If you want only the Cat-Back system (115127-M+125852T) the EMS cost 195.00euros and SAL cost 100.00euros.

When you will decide what parts do you want then I will reply you back more specific.

You can increase the tail pipes length but you will need to cut them locally and make the pipe before the tips longer and after that you must weld the tips back.

Regards,
Tasos Ttikkos

Based on the current conversion rate, if I do the catback on SAL shipping, it is 403 euros ($570). So basically, given other possible expenses, this could be imported at the same price of the MS or RB exhaust catbacks.

Is anyone else interested in this product? I would be willing to go for a group buy! I'll also shoot him a question on the fiberglass in the muffler.

Here is the reply regarding the strength of the fiberglass wool as mentioned in a previous post:

We are salling this part for the last 3-4years without any problem. The wool we are using called ‘continuous glass fiber’ and it can stand up to 850dgrs celcium. Plus we are using thick S/steel wire around the perforated tubes in all the mufflers of the system.

The construction of the mufflers is ‘straight thru’ (completely free).
