The TREX kit claims to use an AC Delco coil IIRC and that is fine. The Ebay harness (which I have seen first hand) is what I would never have on my car. Quality wiring skills and materials are obviously very important in an ignition system. Not to mention the BS that is being spewed about "gains" from installing these on stock cars.

But I guess at some point we all feel the need to justify our purchases. But it's no different than the guys who premix and claim their car idles better and pulls stronger,

I am all for new and better products, this is not that, this is just cheap crap targeted at the new RX-8 generation of noobs. But you know, we all have opinions

Well that explains everything, that page is a joke in the RX-8 world. But this what we get when RX-8's cost less than 20 year old Civics.

Harsh man . Sure there are a lot of uninformed people on there . I imagine they choose that site due to likelyhood getting their heads chewed off if they asked for the same advice on here .

I love this guy^ lol .I've owned my kit for two years (bhr) without issue and I'm a noob by definition of this forum. I don't post because I have nothing new to contribute. This forum has everything you can think of about our car. Even an extensive thread about what not to do to our car lol. I guess it's good that you are looking for fresh faces but as stated earlier, look for time proven quality. I research this forum before I do any service or upgrade to both my 8`s. I'm not bashing "new" because that is the propulsion of advancement, just research. I wish you well and let us know how the product holds up over time...

I don't see a lot of that here, some, but not enough to say it's prevalent.

It's an ignition kit lolol with good wire, proper boots that double snap in to the coils. It's quality with a warranty without some hot head temper behind it. Trex guys are great. Now let's just wait and see what kind of hate and bile comes from the peanut gallery.
Lifetime warrantee? LOL

Yea whatever. That alone is enough to keep me away from the product.

Lifetime warranty from a fly by night company.

As for the other boo hoo crap, well a company "creating" ignition kits should be able to support it's product and be able to have an educated discussion on the topic. There is reason they are not a vendor here and don't actively participate in other forums and groups where they can be questioned by people other thane just looking for the cheapest parts available.

Nah, that group is full of sensitive people who don't want honest answers or critiques, they just want someone to tell them how great their plastidip job looks and how legit their Megan coilovers are. Give them an honest answer or prove them wrong and they just whine to mommy that someone is being mean to them.

But it is good in a way, because it keeps them out of places where people are actually learning even if it is by tough love,

Or does a community organizer have to be a rotary master as well. Oh forgot everyone does to be on your side. When called out for being wrong and proven are you gonna butt buddy up again and try to have a leveled discussion or just be an ******* till that point comes around? Lets talk!
I run a group of medical clinics and do IT work, so I am not sure what business you are referring to.

Three years yet they just registered with the Texas Secretary of State last month? And I don't bash women so why don't you be more specific on what you are are talking about and who and when I bashed them? If you are referring to Margaret, which I think you are, laughing at her follies and life drama that is shared for all to see, doesn't make me a woman basher any more than laughing at grown men here makes me a man basher. As for a community organizer, yes I give her credit she has definitely organized a community. It may be a community of ricer dipshits but it is a community indeed. Also, anyone who knows me here and in real life surely knows that I could care less about bringing RX-8 people together. I look out for my friends and those who ask for help (although less lately unless they seem like they are not easily butt hurt) and that is it.

You surely must have me confused with someone else and just so you know, SARX is a rather large group of people with vastly different opinions and personalities.

I follow a lot of things, who doesn't like a good train wreck? I talk to a few ex admins and her "friends" almost on the daily so let's no pretend there is some sense of loyalty and comradery in that community that special. But hey some people love to be fluffed up, it is what it is. We all have opinions, how those opinions are formed vary.

It's real simple. There is a reason TREX lives and breaths in that community, and it's because no one calls them out on their bullshit there. They are welcome to engage at anytime. Vendor status has it perks, they should become a vendor.

Keep personal attacks out of it folks. Talk about the product, company, etc. - but not about the person.

What are they going to do next? Rebuild engines with a lifetime warranteee as well?

Charles has been great as far as contact and customer service goes for me. As so far, I'm waiting for them to finish the new shop before I ask about getting them to do an engine rebuild. My BHR kit fit on easily with a little bit of finagling due to some rust in the engine bay (Shocker, I know, but my car came from MD). In fact, I think the only reason I got so close to passing emissions was with the better kit I got from him. Quick to answer questions, always easy to talk to. I'll throw my +1 in for BHR. But, don't take my word for it. I've got 150m on my coils so far, and I have a better idle and weirdly enough my gas mileage seems better. That will happen with "any" coil kit, granted, but at least I know I can call Charles and ask him questions if I'm having issues.

Sorry but not sorry, this is a bunch of drama, I personally have T-ReX coils in my car, and the car runs a ton better than it did with OEM stuff, never tried BHR and have heard many good things about them, but I have personally talked to Justin and he even gave me a call and talked me through taking everything apart to take my upper intake manifold off to check the gaskets as I explained that I was uncomfortable doing it without any help, and this was before I even bought anything from him, so naturally due to that form of customer service their coils were affordable and came with a good warranty so why not try them, I bought them and installed them today and had no issues, they use MSD wires, and I'm not sure what brand coils they use but whatever they are they work better than OEM, plus it just looks cool, the new bracket and the way they mount up with the red wires, I'm working on making my car more reliable, and getting it up to par, and Justin is helping me, talk down to them because they offer something cheap to get themselves on the market, but it is of at least decent quality if I do say so myself, just my two cents, take it or leave it, I stand by the T-ReX coils for now because I can send Justin a message or give him a call and he answers almost immediately, which says a lot to me, being that I work for a hobby shop that barely makes it and we do quality work on customers vehicles, it is what it is, he needs to give some to get some, I'm sure when the BHR coils came out in the first place they were talked about the same way
