Stock vs. REVi Stock Dyno ????
 

I have been searching around and I have yet to find a dyno of a Stock 6MT vs Stock 6MT w/ REVi. I know Marietta8 posted one with Stock 6MT vs. 6MT w/ exhaust/flywheel/REVi. I just want to see dyno evidence of the HP/Torque increase from just adding the REVi. I did some searching...didn't find anything. I am sure its gotta be here somewhere?

BUT...before you flame, from what I hear everyone...EVERYONE loves it. It also helps the Renesis's idel issue (just a little ruff) and there is at least one person that seems to be saving significant gas with the REVi...time will tell...

You are looking at this dyno sheet wrong, yes you may pick up 3 peak hp but that is not what you should be looking for all the time, there is a place on that graph that they have pointed out where you are gaining 9hp and 7tq, that is the real gains. Remember it is the area under that curve that matters, not always the peak. By the way I don't have this intake just pointing out what I have learned.

Ahhh, thanks...I'm a newbie to all the dyno talk so I"ll have to check out the dyno again.

Im just saying because I got a the ecu flashed on my old SVTF when I got it I might have picked up a few peak hp and tq but the area in the mid range between the base run and the run after the flash was huge, almost 20hp in some places and you could really feel it there too, so it was worth every penny, even though I didn't get alot of peak power.

I might dyno the car later on after i install the revi. I'll post if i do. I believe Polak's results were higher than average because he was running to lean before the revi. When he installed the revi, the ecu corrected itself so he got additional hp from the ecu being normal + the revi.

9hp under the curve is both usable and pretty impressive. I've been holding back from getting it, but between these reportings and the rumors of increased mileage, I'm really leaning towards getting one.

A friend of mine is getting one this week, we'll see if it makes a big difference.

I dyno'd my AT about a month ago and it dyno'd at 135rwhp. I think the dyno was acting funny but you never know. I recently purchased the Revi intake and plan on going back to the dyno. I will post what I get. But I have not noticed much change other than a lighter wallet. There may be a little more power on the low end but I am thinking that is just me wanting to beleive it is there. My engine actually seems to idle a little rougher but that could be from using 89 octane too much. I am trying to clean out the combustion chamber a bit before I make a definate claim on the rougher idle though. The sound is nice but I don't think it is $300 nicer. I haven't had a chance to get a good reading on improved gas mileage because I did an autocross this past weekend and rev'd the hell out of my engine. But give me a month or so and I will get back to the dyno and see where I am at.

I've stories of the ECU 'learning' the intake, and power returning back to pre-intake levels.

I don't know whether to believe the ECU is "learning" the intake or not. I'm just as likely to believe that people are getting used to it and simply can't tell the difference after a few hundred miles of driving.

I've never dyno'd, I have the stock plugs and wires and I think the "M" flash but one thing is sure, I picked up almost 1 mpg with the REVi and the rotary seems to run smoother and I know this may sound weird but it makes my shifts easier and starting off easier. Not to mention the sound when you get on it and the quality of the product. Every bit as worthy of the $$ as 70+ bucks for clear corners! I guess it's all relative. I LOVE MY REVi!!!!

BTW, you can reset your ECU very simply in order to prevent the ecu from "learning" and you will have the same power as when you installed the revi. Hold the odometer reset button (the one on the right) while the car is off, and then turn the key to the "ON" position while still hoilding down the odometer reset button. The word "TEST" should appear where the odometer should be. Turn off the car, then repeat the process. When it says "TEST" the second time, start the car. The ECU should be reset.

Did not notice any great gains, but didnt expect much either. It does seem to idle better and sounds great at RPM's. I dont have a baseline (stock) dyno to compare my last dyno run (Stock + REVi). But now I have the REV8 so I need another dyno run (REVi + REV8). We'll see.

Any idea, how this mod would affect warranty? I know we all like to think dealers shouldnt use this as an excuse, but what do you all really think would happen on a service call?
