Neither of those are the RX-8 systems. Look at the front flanges. Personally I don't like a single exhaust on a car that has cutouts for 2 of them but that's just me.

since the exhaust is running through one muffler and then splits to two tips, isn't it more efficient to just have straight through rather than a split?
Dual mufflers makes sense when you've got a true dual exhaust - a V engine, one header for each bank of cylinders, and the pipes go all the way back. |
I agree. I dont see the point in having dual exhaust on our cars. I would think that it would bog us down and make us loose power if anything.

tis all for the LOOKS... makes it look more expensive.. and every other car in its class has dual.. 350Z S2K.. etc..
a few S2K peeps here in vancouver switch to a single .. but with this car i am aiming for looks so i like the dual... |
The fraction of a horsepower you gain from eliminating the split is pretty meaningless if you ask me. Now, what you will gain is some weight savings. Again, unless you're also ripping stuff out left and right to save weight then its not worth it.

magnaflow isnt even gonna end up making the Ti exhaust for our cars anymore
|
Why are you talking about a single exhaust for the 8 when you traded your sister for her Mazda protege?
Go with Racing Beat, they will have a single exhaust out soon. |
