Simple question about intaek. which one?
 

Im trying to get a intake like others.

I did search and got lots of info about it.

So I narrow mah choice...1) RB with Duck or 2)HKS.

I know both are great and work perfect.

However, what Im asking is....which one is less loud?

personally I don't much like intake making loud sound...noise...

even though its work good..

Which one is sound calm and less loud?

1) RB with duck or 2) HKS ?

Do not worry about other products..

I do love both, but will get one of them make less noise..

RB, much less noise, I think its probably the cloest thing to stock airbox.

Definitly RB. I have both their intake and exhaust. Love both. But hoping to make a switch soon to Mazdaspeed CAI

Definitly RB, sounds like your looking for what i was looking for. You cant go wrong with RB i have the intake and exhaust and wouldnt trade for anything.

I'm thinking out of the box here. Why do you want to spend $300+ for something that is going to give you a minimal hp increase. If it's just for show, I can understand that. Your money would be better spent on a hi-flow cat,catless mid pipe or light weight flywheel. With these, you will feel the difference.

i wouldn't go w/ the rb w/ duck if your trying to keep it quiet...

What alnielsen says. It sounds like you are interested in power not sounding loud. But keep stock cat if you don't want to be loud. Get the light flywheel or pulleys.

rb is the quietest you can go for an aftermarket intake. actually, the rb dual exhaust is quiet too. after a while it began to seem stock.

The duck will be definitely a unique addition... no need for the intake. :D:

HKS definitly less quiet but like alnielsen said it will be $300+ I reccommend a drop in filter for a lot less for almost the same gains.

Wait... how did you narrow it down between the 2? Rb, okay quiet but HKS? That is one of the loudest intakes. Some people on this forum have sold theirs saying it was too noisey.

HKS is definitely not for you. But like I said earlier, get the flywheel or pulleys.

I say go with AEM or MS CAI practically the same thing!

You will see big results if you bypass the coolant from the throttle body. You could run a snorkle and never get cold air in the intake if scalding hot coolant heats up the incoming air. Do this first. There is a DIY thread on it. Flywheel is a must do. Go with ACT prolite. Toss the CAT if you can. It is very heavy and restrictive which will fail at some point. Clean your MAF sensor periodicly. There is a thread on that too. I have a K and N typhoon. They have a reputation of being loud. It was loud until I put the midpipe on. The backpresure no longer reverbs from the intake. I have a fuel saving tornado mounted on the tip of the nose. I fabed that in. All you hear is a whistle, like a turbo, when you get in it. I am running the stock exhaust with 3.5 inch chrome tips extended two more inches. This prevents the heat from melting my car. I have the O2 sensor pluged in the midpipe. No CEL after 1600 miles. It will blow away a stock 350Z.
I will probably go with the new Mazdaspeed CAI now. After bypassing the throttle body, I can see how much difference it makes. The intake used to get as hot as the block. Now after driving over an hour, it gets warm. If you drive on the highway, it cools down quickly. The only time it gets hot is when I am sitting in traffic for extended periods of time. It never gets anywhere close to the same temp it was getting too. Also I removed the sound proofing from the top of the hood and the Engine cover. The engine bay will disipate heat much better with room for air to circulate. The aluminum hood will disipate heat very well with air traveling over it. Need to find a hood that has reverse scoops to vent heat. Heat is a major issue with this car.

blow away a 350z....hmmmmm doubt it. The only RX-8 ive seen beat a 350z was FI. please prove me wrong but until then i call bullshit.

ok might be possible if your driving skills are that of dale earnhardt's and the z's driver is the equivalent to my grandma.

also you do know removing the insulation will possibly hurt your paint job on the hood. And when the dealer sees you removed it, bye bye warranty

If you mean that Tornado fuel saver thingy by this, there goes any credibility you might have had...
