RX8 + WON NOS Kit !
 

I have a WON NOS Kit 100i boxed in the garage (took off my mazda xedos 6 275 bhp). Has anyone fitted a kit to their 8 thus far? If so, with what results and which set up 25's 100's. Or let me start again. What if any additional considerations should I be thinking about before fitting the NOS kit?

Try a search in this forum on "Nitrous" and you'll get a ton of hits. It's been discussed extensively. Here's the search I did.

Has NoS been done? Definitely. Check this thread out. Is it common? No. At least not yet.

Thanks for that, some good points but also some people who have been sucked in by the '2 fast 2 furious' boys. I ran NOS in my mazda xedos 6 for over a year 50's, 75's & 100's with no problems except worn tyres. I think NOS will always be a no go area for many people mainly through ignorance. (no offence intended).

I certainly take no offense to that comment... I was just pointing you to threads that you could read where it's been discussed.

I too am interested in how well Nitrous will do with the '8. I think the best person here who will make it happen is probably Charles R. Hill - it's in his plans, as I'm sure you'll read.

I Will install the kit today but I think I will let the prof's carry out the set up (WON Wizards Of Nos Doncaster UK), mainly the TPS unit as I would not know where to begin (silly drive by wire). I am a bit concerned with ratios and jet sizes but I am sure WON can help. I think just the basic 25's will do (-2 degrees) and not involve stupid amounts of gas (11lb of NOS through 25's 11 mins usage approx. 100's 2 mins 15 secs approx.)

Results to follow, I have a four wheel interia dyno local to me, which I am sure will help.

I have e-mailed NX, asking if the kit they designed/installed for the Mazda 6 will work on the RX-8. I have yet to hear back. My main concern is whether or not the Schrader valve pickup they used on the 6 is present on the 8. What I would like to see is the Zex system with the solenoids in a purple box work on the 8. That unit seems the simplest to install. I have also considered a stand-alone fuel delivery system as a possibility if there are problems with controlling the factory fuel system. Although more expensive to have a separate fuel cell and pump, I could use whatever grade of fuel I like and avoid the need for ignition retards no matter what the boost level. Said system would work on FI as well.
