RX8 Electric Cutout

Ok so I have been looking into cutouts for RX8's. I havent ever seen a video on one so is it possible you could install a Electric cutout like mid pipe? I know some people talk about the Back Pressure and effecting the engine i'm not sure if that would come in effect?

And If It cant be done I really would like a new exhaust but I want a loud mean one that everyone can hear...... Any advice?

1. I have yet to come across a street car that has had electric cutouts last for more than a few months. The exhaust temps are far too hot for any affordable electronic device to last, and that is on your average car, not the 8 which produces significantly higher exhaust temps.

2. Please dont open pandora's box with talk about back pressure ... chances are you are using it in the wrong context

3. Loud mean one that anyone can hear? sure grab a race pipe and an ebay exhaust and you are good to go.

But is there a specific brand you would say too look into? I mean I have seen all the $200 kits on eBay but are they really even worth it i dont wanna be spending money on crapy product that wont last.

You can put the cut out in front of the cat but it will be ear bleeding loud and you will likely melt something or catch something on fire.

In your case, I would go with a wastegate on the exhaust dp ;-) with a lower spring so it opens soon enough.

More affordable than any cut out and made for high temps.

It will most definately melt. Before the cat is the exhaust header which you would have to modify to fit a cutout on.
