I've got the Tanabe and RP cat, was letting RedSheDevil and BlueRenesis listen to it a few weeks ago, they seeemed to really like it. As has everyone else that has heard it. They've all basically commented that it is nothing like a Civic. Must be our different cat back systems and muffler packaging. I bought the Tanabe specifically because all comments led me to believe it was much quieter than the Greddy or B&B or Borla.

Yep-I got mine at Jegs, but you can also get it from Summit for the same price:

As for longevity, MazdaManiac has been using this unit in his catless mid-pipe for a while now... turbo and all.

I got mine at NAPA, $25. Being an employee has its benefits.

RP "bonez" Supercat Installed My impressions...

Currently w/RB intake, RB duct and catback, I had installed the Rp Supercat two weeks ago. My car is NA. My impressions...

* Lossed that subtle throaty sound of the RB Catback, Intake setup

* Though a bit louder kinda sounds like a Racer-Boy honda going from 1st. gear to 3rd.

* Idles better!

* feel more heat form the cupholder section

* Feel just a slight ummph but nothing to write to mom about
The guys a _uffy muffler did a great job and welded the pipe inplace in addition, can easily relace the stock if i have to. So far she runs better.

.Just my two cents.

Warranty Issues?

Anyone had there dealer scold them for having the RP SUPER CAT installed?

I am seriously considering this mod and just curious. My dealership is really great and have told me "We don't care what you put on your car as long as it doesn't affect us getting paid for a warranty claim!"

Plus the fact that this mod can possibly increase mpg a little and still increase HP AND sound!? BONUS!

Just ordered Umnitza CF intake too... Can't wait to hear it!

I have one installed with my mazdaspeed cat back and it sounds beautiful. A guy at the meet today that has owned many 7s of all different types told me it sounded "tuned" and he liked it a lot. At WOT it certainly turns heads and I imagine many people wonder wtf it is !

=D

Here is a shitty sound clip I made with the shitty mic on my powerbook !

Does everyone on here get the back fire sound? I know the stock one does that a little. I would like to avoid it if at all possible. If not... OH WELL!

Thats what I get to(RP cat, B&B catback), almost sounds like a jake brake.
here is a clip of the idle, once I find a place to do a "drive by" I will and share it.

I have an RP cat and Greddy SP2 catback and get the popping sound as well. I believe it's caused by an overly rich condition created by the ecu at higher rpms.

HCT,

I was going to do the same setup. Is there a way to lean back the fuel at certain Rpm's?

Also is there a way you could video this for me? Like on Rotary performances site?

Thanks all!

<3 I love my pop

It only does it when it is warmed up as well, also has calmed down quite a bit after having it on the car and running it for a while. I guess the supercat is "broken in" now !

Either the InterceptorX or the CZ will tune out the rich mixture.
