replica aem/mazdaspeed intake ?
I've seen a few and I'm running a custom carbon fiber intake but I noticed the sellers on eBay have sold some so I was wondering who has them on here ? And what reviews looked like 20 or so have been sold . And diameter is 3.5 and 3.0 inside on the pics. I think the aem/ms is 3.5 and 3.25. So. Who's got em ? Any running issues ?

I don't understand why you would waste your time with a replica that isn't even sized correctly. Especially since you can find used AEM / MazdaSpeed intakes in the $150~$200 range. I paid $150 for my MS intake.
OD means nothing on an intake. ID is everything. If anything you wound want the OD to be larger if it had to be in order to maintain the ID. This just shows even more that it's a poor quality part. |
The Id is 3.5
|
Bigger doesn't mean better. You're MAF won't be scaled correctly if it's not identical to the factory, AEM, or MS part.
|
And I would bet my left nut that it is not exactly a 3.5" ID anyway.
|
The correct ID is 86mm. Most people use 3.5" OD tube with a 1/16" wall thickness which is close enough (85.73mm ID)

Ahh I see now.

How about seeing the search function and laying off posting new threads on old well posted subjects? :)

I haven't seen anyone post on this intake , but thanks for the newbie advise that was already done.-(searching) oh by the way, great tip on the intake screen from McMaster-Carr, i found that from searching too.
It's all good.. thanks guys |
probably because you also mis-posted it in the wrong forum, you are more likely to lose HP if done wrong and at best maybe gain 1 or 2 HP if done right so this is not a Major HP Upgrade thread

if there was a like button team you would have like 5 lol.

Instead of me dogging you about a subject even I couldn't find an answer for. I tried it. Lost power went back.
