replacement air filter (rx7.com)

Has anyone used this filter on rx7.com?

I am not looking at it from a performance aspect as I don't believe any replacement filter will give a performance advantage. I am more concerned with reliability/quality and at least the same air flow properties as the stock element.

Any thoughts on this one, or a suggestion for another?

Looks like a K&N, it works good, people have also had luck with "green" filters also.

The stock filter looks like a plate of cotton, really fuzzy looking. I don't think I would want cotton getting sucked into the engine. I have the K&N drop in like the one you link plus you can clean it and reuse over and over versus spending $50 for stock one every time you change it out. You can probably find one locally at a Pep boy or your local automotive supply store.

I've had a green filter on my car for about 4 or 5 months now, and have been happy thus far. Butt dyno would have to be calibrated to notice changes that small, I did take out a screen at the same time. Idle qualtiy wasn't terribly good before or after. Part of that is that it seems the Renny idles better around 1000 rpms as opposed to this 850 or so crap from the factory...

Yes,, I have cleaned my maf with no change in idle quality.
