Redline and Premix

Folks, our RX8 just broke 3000 miles and I decided it was time to get any metal particles from the breakin removed out of the transmission and differential.

This morning I swapped out the Transmission fluid with Redline MT-90 and the Differential with Redline 75W-90.

I also then added in some Lubrication Engineer two stroke oil from a local speed shop. It was surprising that they acutally had some in stock. I wanted to see how the car did with the extra oil mixed in the tank. I added in 5 ounces of two stroke oil...meant only to add 4 but ooops. Thus, the tank has a ratio of ~420/1

Ounce Gallons ~ Ounces of gas = Ratio of n/1
6 15.9 2035.2 339
4 15.9 2035.2 509

This thread discusses the premix

So the major test was to have my wife drive the car.....She did and said the car felt smoother driving~shifting and even was idling smoother. We never even had a rough idle issue either. I was shocked because she is not "tuned" into cars as much as I am. :D She felt a difference in the vehicle and was pleased.

I have royal purple oil in the engine , trany and diff, I also do a premix with syn 2 cycle oil a ratio of 250:1 and fuel system cleaner at a ratio of 500:1 at every fill up. The car idles butter smooth and it runs smooth as glass. I love it. If you read any of my posts, im having a engine problem, with cutting out at ~6k rpm. Everything on the car is in spec, I dont think the premix or any of the other changes to the otherwise stock car are causing it, as Ive been thru 2 tanks with out adding anything and the car runs the same/worse. If anything these may have damaged the cat, but thats it.
