Rear Differential Options?

I've been doing some research regarding power adders for your RX-8, and I've been noticing that (much like the Z) you really don't see a whole lot of gains from simple bolt ons (i/e/h).

My girlfriend (owner of a whitepearl RX-8 GT 6psd) wants to get a little more power, but I really don't think she wants the maintenance overhead of a forced induction kit (nor do I want to foot the bill for it :p)... so what options do we have for her 8?

Gears are usually a pretty quick and inexpensive way to get a little more acceleration out of any car -- but I have yet to see anyone whose done this upgrade to their RX-8. Since you guys are the pros, maybe you could point me in the direction of a company who does this kind of thing for specifically for the RX-8... with such a big powerband and a topspeed of 145ish, I'd imagine your car could afford a *little* tigher gear ratio.

Also, while we're at it... tell me about these newer electronics available for the RX-8... are they usable on N/A motors with decent gains?

Thanks in advance. :)

Stock is 4.44, you can " upgrade " to 4.72 for around $1,100.

Do a search for " 4.44" and you will find more info.

^ the rear gear is already pretty good, part of the reason the car does what is does with only about 225hp, if you want power and want to stay NA, there is a lot to be gained with good tuning of a piggyback ecu. The X-Interceptor is being tested on NA, and should give good gains for about the same as a rear end gear change.

Also you wouldnt want to go to much higher, since your already looking at 75mph is 4k in 6th. Not that the engine cant do it...but your gas miliage is gonna get even worse...
