Real quick question

When you say Catback or exhaust system your talking about every part below the catylatic converter, but when you say just "exhaust" your just talking about the tips???

Also I looked it up, and was wondering other than the slight HP increase, and the better "sound" from the car what else does a better exhaust system do are there any other advantages to it other than maybe "it looks nice"

btw other than HP and looks is there any MAJOR difference between exhaust systems??? (Like Hymee's is a system, but if its an "exhaust" for $200 its a tip right?)

cat back exhaust refers to the part directly after the cat. When people say exhaust, they generally mean a cat back 90% of the time, unless they are talking about a full exhaust which would mean a header, cat, and catback.

Most important thing is how much the exhaust weighs. The lighter the better, but it's so subjective I can't sit here and tell you exhaust A is better than exhaust B. Pick which one you like the best.

i disagree. the most important thing is how well it flows. it is afterall, an exhaust.

losing 10 lbs doesn't do squat

I know I know, but in this scenario since this is confusing to him I doubt getting into air flow is going to do him any good. I should have worded that differently I suppose.

Also money becomes and issue too, which is why most people have the greddy exhaust.

You can get larger tips welded to your stock exhaust for around $200
I have Racing Beat Rev8 because it sounds good, it's not too loud, it gives a small power increase and it looks great.

-most- of the well known exhausts for the 8 all perform similarly with the major differences being sound and weight... so within the range of known exhausts for the 8, weight could be the most important thing. I'm sure you could find one or 2 that flow much worse (of course) but in general it's pretty similar (as far as I know).

There are some minor HP differences between the exhausts, in addition to weight and sound when NA. We're seeing more people going over 300 whp now, and exhaust choice does matter significantly more at that point.

The question is, why hamper your power output with a $600 exhaust when you can make a correct choice up front and not have to buy another exhaust down the road.
