RE-Amemiya sways?

Hey Guys!

Just wondering if there was anyone out there with the RE-Amemiya sway bars on? Anything from Mr Amemiya has to be pretty good! I'm thinking of getting these after i get my Tein Flex's put on.

Any idea if theyre compatible with the agency power endlinks?

Re amemiya is a very good brand, but there are so many others manifacturers with lots of feedback..racing beat, agency power, tanabe, MS, whiteline,...

:)

You can't get swaybars made in AU?

Hopefully you're informed enough not to think they're any better than most other bars ...

kinchu007 04-16-2007 09:14 PM

My opinion is there are two types of sway bars: solid and tubular.
I think if tubular bars will fit (they need to be much larger in diameter to provide the same stiffness) then that's the way to go, because they should be considerably lighter than equivalently stiff solid bars. Most times they're even lighter than stock while providing 50% - 100% more stiffness. Just my opinion.

I think Tanabe makes tubular sways for the 8.

Something else to consider is that an independent suspension is a good thing. Slapping huge sways on there will turn your nimble 8 into a stiff solid axle feeling car (I'm exaggerating of course). I'm not saying sways suck, but if you're gonna go with a coilover setup anyway, do that first. If you still hate the body roll (which should be dramatically reduced thanks to your stiff new springs) then and only then go with sway bars.

Remember, sway bars do give you more grip (unless you hit a bump on one tire which then sends the opposite side tire into a hop as well) but they definitely take away from road feel and steering feel and tire feedback and all that good stuff that makes an 8 so much more sophisticated.

Anyone agree?

takahashi 04-16-2007 10:03 PM

Absolutely agree with the above.

Drew just brought a set of Tein Flex.

I use that model with MazdaSpeed sway with good result.

Did you see what is on the picture? They match the sway with Quantum spec suspension.

wow purple!

The only way people would see it is when your car is raised!

How much do those coilovers go for Taka?>

BigRed 04-16-2007 10:13 PM

ditto to you my friend

Mazdaspeed bars are not much stiffer than OE and also not adjustable, not the best choice for the tuner types

What about the re-amemiya ones?

Based on the pics they are adjustable with three positions to adjust stiffness according to needs/likes.

takahashi 04-17-2007 08:50 AM

That is right. The closer the holes to the horizontal part of the sway bar, the stiffer it is.

I wonder if it will hit anything when it is set the firmest....

The Quantum Spec shocks are more than 500000yen. It is just 5000$AUD as off today...

-OT- Bloody AUD keep rising. We are rich Drew.

nycgps 04-17-2007 09:50 AM

We're poorer everyday, US dollar sucks :(

500K yen ? dang, thats like 4500+ USD .... Im sure they're high quality stuff but ..... thats like 1/6 of my car's total cost .... will get one eventually but not right now.

Ahhh if only we went back to the 80's where the AU was stronger than the US...

DrewMan 04-17-2007 11:27 AM

hang on thats the same thing hahahahaha

takahashi 04-17-2007 06:21 PM

Turbo may not keep up when the suspension is so good....

Even the STi has prob keep with RX-8 with Tein Flex... think of Quantum and RX-8

You will never see the range that those offer, get a set of adjustable endlinks.

Yep, I have a set on my car and the front are adjustable the rear however are not. Normaly you would never need to adjust the rear unless you are really picky.
