Racing Brake Big Brake Kit
 

I got the BBK from Racing Brake including a 13" slotted rotor and their 4-piston caliper along with their ET-700 brake pads. First of all, i just started to go to the track (been twice @ willow springs, ca on the big and little track). The rx8 is bad ass on the track, it is nimble. The factory brakes were great before but the bbk did make a mild difference in the dry, but i noticed a great difference in the wet. The guys at racing brake are super helpful and very responsive. If anyone is interested in the brake kit i would definitely consider racing brake as they are going to be opening a location in Fullerton, ca. If anyone is local (i live in anaheim) and are serious to consider a brake upgrade, i would be happy to demonstrate them on my own car or "perhaps" let you test them out. The pads are good, but they squeak just a tad bit. Well if you have any q's let me know, i just did this post to let you guys know about the product, as i was looking for a lot of info before i bought them. Anybody in the local area going to the track soon???

I wish Racing Brake would come out with an updated rear caliper set also. I have just the Racing Brake sport one piece rotors for now. Would like to upgrade if I start going to the new track in Oregon this summer.

Not going to happen because they don't have a caliper with integral parking brake like the OE rear caliper

they designed a bracket for their non-parking brake caliper for the RX-8, but abandoned the concept

I have a copy of it, but it's very intricately detailed and would require a high price to custom machine, it's not just a simple bracket, plus then you have no parking/e-brake capability

Yeah, I remember you or dannobre saying that before now that I think about it. I wonder if their caliper will fit my stock sized sport rotors, and fit inside my Enkei RPF1's? I have the 18x9.5 with the 45 offset. What was the reason again about the fitament issues? My memory is getting bad these days... ug

They have 2 BBK's one is oversized and one will fit 17inch wheels. The oversized BBK has an 8mm deeper offset.

Now that I am distributing this line I picked up the Oversized BBK for myself, as Team said having the BBK in the rear you lose the Parking Brake and after much thought I don't want to sacrifice that. So I am just going to put a two-piece rotor in the rear.

Team, this week they are actually moving to a New Facility in CA instead of NJ. When I was talking to them on the phone they were telling me they are discontinuing the Drilled and Slotted Rotors.

They will only be carrying the Open Slot Rotors and Slotted Rotors as well.

I am interested in trying out there Motorsports Compounds as well, have you seen anyone use their ET800 or ET900 series pads?

The ET300 looks to be a Great Pad for a street setup and competitively priced better than Hawk HPS....

I believe those will fit.

If I remember correctly, Porterfield brake pads work on this set up.

I have got the et700 pads, which i dont think are available anymore, for the track only. They are great and i never changed them, so i use them on the street as well. I have a brand new set of the et 300 and will hopefully pay the difference and just go with the et800/et900 for track events, if RacingBrake lets me.

If they are brand new I don't see why I wouldn't be able to do the exchange for you.

We still carry the ET700 line of brake pads. They are designed for dual-purpose street and track use, however are not to be used for hard track duty.

For intermediate/advanced track duty, we have the ET800 and ET900 series pads. Some racers have found the ET800/900 too abrasive for their rotors, so we have been working on a new ET800/900 hybrid compound with feedback from some Evo racers. So be on the lookout for that in the next few months.

It's no problem for you to return your ET300s and get a set of ET800s or ET900s. We want to make sure you're happy with your purchase.

I've attended about 5 track events so far, and knowing that a good brake company would be close to home is good news.

I normally would not go (especially on a friday) but next week is easter break and it only made sense to go now...or the next event i'll be attend is probably july or aug.
