Racing beat header with stock exhaust & cat

So tomorrow I am buying a racing beat header from a local guy I will be putting it on this weekend, I know I won't really get any performance gains from it but I am slowly doing my exhaust this week is the header, next couple of weeks bhr resonated midpipe, then after that I am looking at catbacks mainly racing beat but may just stay stock I want something resonably quiet but with a nice sound. Anyone have any experience with the combination above or know what the header sounds like with the stock exhaust system?
also when installing do i need to buy a header to engine gasket or can I reuse stock?

Well in case anyone is wondering racing beat header with stock cat and catback sounds fine not really any louder to me, and no big change in sound. Car feels slightly more responsive but could be a placebo effect.

you won't straight pipe it lol

I'm gonna try it I really like the ap cat back from the videos I watched but I know it will be too loud for me. since I already have racing beat header I was thinking of just going with the dual resonated mid pipe and cat back from them as well keep it all under one brand of the mid pipe is too much man for me then I'll go back to stock cat

yomomspimp06 06-12-2016 08:08 PM

it will be loud but with a Dual Resonated pipe it won't be too bad

If the neighbors stay happy then I'm happy lol

If you want it to be a bit quieter the BHR midpipe would be the way to go IMO.... I'm a bit different as I have a turbo in there muffling sound a bit too but my BHR midpipe with GReddy SE catback (they don't sell anymore) has a nice purr at low rpms and isn't blowing anyones ear drums at WOT. Even the old gentlemen a couple doors down from me came up to me one day and said he really liked the sound of my car haha

ive heard the bhr midpipe is the one to get if you want the quietest catless midpipe. That's the one I had my mind set on but racing beat was a little cheaper, I will probably go with bhr anyways. Only reason I don't want loud is I go to work pretty early in the morning and most of my neighbors are older otherwise I would go with the agency power cat back

racing beats' dual resonator pipe is more quiet and cheaper, fyi.

Setflyn41 06-16-2016 04:35 PM

from what ive read most people say the bhr is the one to get as far as noise go even though it only has 1 resonator vs 2

BlackStealth 06-17-2016 10:25 AM

That is because people are BHR fanboys. The difference in the two is that Racing Beat uses packing material in both resonators while the BHR doesn't - it uses noise cancelling techniques.

The BHR WILL be more loud, but some say it will last longer since there is no packing material. I've had my Racing beat resonator for years, and with turbo systems AND on the track. Still going strong - and that is some serious abuse. Up to you ofcourse, but if they both serve the same purpose and one is much cheaper and just as robust.... why bother spending more?

Both are well built. Weight would the be the advantage of the BHR over the RB Dual res. Also, BHR's prices are shipped, so the price difference is minimal.

That's true after shipping racing beat is 441 bhr is 450 makes my decision a lot easier thanks for the help guys

I was also gonna look at used ones at this point when I go to buy one whichever I find cheaper will be bought
