Racing Beat and Greddy sp2 question...

I'm thinking about adding an exhaust to my RX8. After doing some research on this site... i've narrowed it down to 2 exhausts. The RB and the Greddy SP2. My question is are the tips of these two exhaust the same size? i saw some pictures of both and from what i can tell.. it seems like the tips on the Greddy SP2 is stupid big.

i dont have either but im rather sure the greddy are the biggest tips out. and def bigger than RB

HaloX 06-10-2005 01:57 AM

the greddy has 4.5" diameter exterior tips while I believe the RB has approximately a 4" diameter exterior pipe. Correct me if I'm wrong.

anyone have a close lup picture of both Graddy and Racing Beat's exhaust taken from the back?

Ask, and you shall receive. Hopefully this is an okay angle for you. I wouldn't necessarily say the GReddy SP2 is stupid big, but IMHO I think it fits the hole nicely. Sounds great too! I also heard you might have fitment issues if you're planning on a Mazdaspeed rear bumper. Sorry about the size. :o

Go here. http://mazdatrix.com/8exhaust.htm

It shows both tips pretty clearly IMO.

the greddy tips also aren't round..more like oval if i remember correctly. also the rb has 4" tips and a 3" exhaust pipe...the greddy is 60 mm i believe. (maybe 65 i forget)

This should help. Greddy SP2 4 1/2 "

army_rx8 06-10-2005 04:50 PM

yea teh greddy is a lill oval like 120mm x 100 or somthing like that.

XDEEDUBBX 06-10-2005 04:55 PM

i'd pick the greddy over the RB....even though i have the hks exhaust....

dgerald 06-10-2005 05:58 PM

I like both the RB abd GReddy exhaust systems, but I have the SP2. Trust me, it may seem big at first, but IMO I think it's because stock is too small. They actually fill the holes quite nicely. The SP2 will change color on you though and get a little gold, but I think it looks cool.

i've actually read about the discoloration.. and i really dont mind it...

XDEEDUBBX 06-10-2005 06:49 PM

the discoloration on racing beats is bad....i've seen one that turned completely gold..literally!

That's a bit alarming

I'm actually considering going with the RB just because from the short clips I've heard, I seem to prefer the sound. Just a bit more subtle for my taste. (IMO)

Little off topic: Any tricks to keeping these exhausts looking nice and shiny? (YES, I am lazy and don't feel like searching) ;)

Here ya go - Racing Beat!

RotaryManiac 06-12-2005 08:29 PM

Damn, those racing beats are nice. The sp2 is too big IMO, but then again, i might still end up getting one.

xdrian 06-12-2005 11:07 PM

they both sound great, its just a matter of taste
