Racing Beat Flywheel Comparison vid

OK.

I have finally installed my flywheel and I'm very pleased. I think it makes an amazing diference in the smoothness of the car, espcailly from standing.

Here is a pretty poor video that may help show the diference, but its really all about the driving I guess....

I highly reccommend the mod... 8) :D

Have fun!

euh...what's that supposed to illustrate? :suspect:

NgoRX8 01-24-2007 12:58 PM

it illustrates the difference of the OEM and racing beat flywheel. i definitely see it in the side by side comparo. revs much quicker, nice!

Brettus 01-24-2007 01:04 PM

If only you had done standing start 1/4 miles for that vid ..........

Phantom Menace 01-24-2007 01:29 PM

I agree with Brettus. At a stop with your ebrake on, its hard to tell if you're not just pressing the gas harder...if you did a launch, then we'd see the speed with the RPMs. Cool vid though.

AdRoCK3217 01-24-2007 01:37 PM

Wow, thats unbelieable. And to all of you saying maybe he just pressed his foot harder, thats hardly the case. ANYONE who has ever revved in neutral with the stock flywheel knows that his matches up perfectly with how slowly it revs.

What weight is this flywheel? If its more than 9lbs, I think I want to get mine to rev like a motorbike :)

wicked1044 01-24-2007 05:07 PM

niceeee..

nycgps 01-24-2007 05:23 PM

Its fast, but not as fast as Fidanza one.

Astrox 01-24-2007 05:34 PM

California Style, are you using the OEM Clutch with the RB Flywheel?

california style 01-24-2007 05:47 PM

OEM clutch, yeah.

Its a pretty good clutch apparently and I saw no need to change it....
Especially as I like the feel of it and dont want a heavier one as I do mainly City (ie traffic!) driving

I think the video is a good illustration because you can see the difference in how fast the revs fall as well...unless he has his foot on the gas then too.:)

It would have been a cool experiment to do a 2nd gear pull from 3000rpm or so to redline on the OEM and then the RB flywheel side by side to see the acceleration diff. I didn't have a camera and the foresite to do that before I installed mine and wished I had. Oh well. Glad you are enjoying yours too!

california style 01-25-2007 02:15 AM

yeah I could have done more, but basically needed to give my mates camera back...it was a loaner!

Then recorded new revving footage outside his house cos he needs it for work so couldnt borrow it to take away again!

Still it gives an idea.

I'm still amazed about how much a difference it makes in driveabillity terms.
Its so much smoother and snappier. It's really been making me accelerate away from lights etc, or into clear road ahead, cos it more fun now...hehe

NgoRX8 01-25-2007 02:22 AM

yes the difference shown is when the revs fall not when they go up.
