Racing Beat exhaust run in period

Just got a Racing Beat exhaust system installed here in Tokyo. It was a lot of fun to drive home. Great sound. Also got blue wide angle door mirror glass installed. So far pretty happy with those too.

My question is that mechanic who fitted the new exhaust told me that I should not accelerate rapidly for the next 500kms, but normal driving should be fine. He said that if I do this, it may cause the exhaust to be louder than when initially installed. Is this a folk tale, something I should worry about? 500km takes a long time here in Japan where roads are crowded... I haven't heard about this before???

Tom.

Never Heard of that before. Maybe some others on here will have better input.

Its door mirror glass with a blue tint and a wider viewing angle. Blue tint reduces sparkle at night time and wider angle means you can see more leading to reduced blind spot and easier reverse parking. Was out and about last night. So far so good. I bought it from a shop called D-Technique.

Scroll down a bit... They don't look so clean in this pic, but they look good when you see them. Bit expensive though. Not sure if they are available in the states or who actually makes the glass.

Regarding, exhaust run in, any ideas?

Tom.

Never heard of that story about the exhaust.

Physicaly how can that be possible?

Don't know about the physics part. I think I'll just take it easy until the "lovely" smell goes away and not worry about it after that as nobody else seems to have heard of it.
