Racing Beat Exhaust

Just put my new racing beat exhaust on in the driveway and it is perfect. I was wondered about it being to loud and its not just its a little deeper than stock.

When just driving normally around town are you able to hear the difference? I'm looking for a ncie deep tone that will not overpower the interior but can still please the ear. Then when I step on the gas for some spirited driving I really want the exhaust to scream out "Watch out -- Rotary coming through!" If ya know what I mean. I'm debating between Racing Beat and Borla. Also Greddy is a thought. But what is your experience so far with the REV8

Hey btw, where in NJ are you located? If you're near me then maybe I can hear it in person sometime.

i have the RB exhaust too and when you step on it it its way louder than stock especially at 4-6k. just crusing around town it's a little louder than stock.

i am in northern nj. The install of the racing beat went easy, everything lined up perfect

RX-GR8 07-16-2005 04:40 PM

i had midas install it for $80.

invasion08 07-16-2005 04:41 PM

I just put it on today and i love the sound

invasion08 07-16-2005 04:41 PM

You should have saved the 80 bucks and done it yourself. It was easy

Can we get some sound clips?

Look for Nemesis' posts. He has RB exhaust with the RP supercat, and a bunch of other sound clips.

Mikelikes2drive 07-17-2005 03:59 AM

jjust wait till it settles in and it'll get louder... but not too loud

:D totally normal, yet I'm using my HKS Legamax install on the same comparison...thought my neighbours were about to complain :) It goes away after a few days.....

Thats the exact opposite of my experience. Mine mellowed out after time.

invasion08 07-17-2005 02:30 PM

I got the same smell at first i thought it was melting the plastic but then figured out it was normal

Mikelikes2drive 07-17-2005 03:12 PM

there are chemicals or what not... or like a layer of something on the inside of the exhaust that gets burned off....

perfectly normal

Hey, I'm about to order the REV8 exhaust system ,and I think I'm going to go with the REV8 Intake from Racing Beat and put them on at the same time. Any thoughts?...The sound together should be overall much better than stock.

MedicineMan 07-17-2005 09:20 PM

Great combination! RX8store.net has the best prices and they are drop shipped from Racing Beat right to your house. I love mine and am now waiting for my RAM duct to come in (although I ordered this straight from RB...couldn't wait). You ought to consider one when you put on the REVi as they both require you to remove the front bumper

invasion08 07-18-2005 03:45 PM

Yeah if you are going to get the Racing Beat intake you have to get the ram duct too. They should offer it as a package

TPNova1 07-18-2005 09:25 PM

This is true, might as well. Luckily I am just a short drive from a authorized RB dealer. This should make delivery and install easier. Thanks, and Good Luck.
