pulley or short shifter??

I can't decide what mode I have to do first.
Should I get the pulley first or short shifter??

Is it a good idea for me to get AP pulley + greddy water/alternator pulley?
or should I just get AP pulley? if it doesn't make anything different, I will just get AP pulley.

Please help me to decide what to get
thx

short shifter

Get the short shift and save for other noticeable mods like a lighter flywheel or AccessPort.

I would say short shifter. The pulleys will not had any hp and your a/c will not be as cold.

dsire4u 03-12-2009 08:32 PM

oh, but when I searched, AP pulley will gain 6hp or sth.
I also watched the video too.

I have the AP pulley.
If there are any gains, it isn't noticeable.
Like I said, save your money for more enjoyable mods.

Maybe 1 or 2 hp tops.

short shifter! you will never regret it!

dsire4u 03-12-2009 08:40 PM

I guess, I am getting the ss.

ss over pulleys,imo

Short shifter, for sure. Day and Night difference. Unless you are a 98 lb waif, then you won't like it.

Interesting, all the people are agreeing on the short shifter.
I made my mind to short shifter.
What option do I have for new knobs?
voodoo?
what is the best looking??

bse50 03-13-2009 07:53 AM

Try to find a knob that has the same weight of the stock one. Mazdaspeed makes one, so do several other japanese manufacturer. It is a matter of balance and precision

SPHINX144 04-14-2009 09:45 PM

so if one installs a short shifter you necessarily need to buy a new knob?

dozer 04-14-2009 09:46 PM

^NOPE...same threading, same everthing except throw are A LOT smaller

dozer 04-14-2009 09:47 PM

i also say SS by far the best mod under 300, totally changes everthing, ive had mine for 2 years already, and im still in love with it

myriadshalaks 04-14-2009 09:49 PM

i just installed the short shifter. it's nice!
