problem with downshifting into 2nd wit new clutch

i had the SRmotorsport clutch and flywheel installed, and when downshifting into second gear it grinds... especially if i just do it lightly... if i slam it into 2nd it goes... but this happen's about 50%of the time.. the people at the shop mentioned that it might be caused by the clutch hose.....

any comments please?

if the pressure plate has a higher clamping force, the stock clutch hose may be flexing from the additional hydraulic pressure and not allowing the clutch to fully disengage

maybe try upgrading to a stainless steel clutch line for better clutch action

the thing is i do have the stainless steal hose... what u think? i just adjusted my short shifter.. and drove it a little today and seemed better..

if you already have the stainless steel clutch hose, it may be that the slave cylinder may be out of adjustment. not sure, if you continue to have problems, take it back to where you got it installed and have them check it out. you should not be grinding going into any gear

The clutch pedal needs to be adjusted. I had the same problem and I am using the ACT Xtreme Duty pressure plate. The factory clutch hose was more than able to deal with the higher plate pressures without flexing. I did install the S.S. hose and the feel improved slightly but it wasn't so bad as to cause engagement issues in the first place. Also make sure that the clutch line is properly bled, whether or not you swap to the S.S. hose.
