Practical Performance Vs Usability (on the road)

Hey Guys.

I have been looking to perform some 'tweaks' on my 8 for some time now. I was wondering about the pros & cons of doing the mods I was thinking of...

Air Filter
How does a K & N 'Typhoon' intake compare to a 'drop-in' replacement?? What should I expect in hp gains?? Is there a great deal of difference??

Midpipe
I would like more power and nicer sound not an extra loud 'wake the neighbours' experience. How would a straight through midpipe + Borla compare to a improved gasflow Canzoomer midpipe (with cat) + Borla?? What should I expect in hp gains??

Programmable ECU - Not a 'Piggyback' ( I don't fancy it)
http://www.accessecu.com/products/accessport.html
(Available soon {hopefully}) else a Rickshaw unit (if I can't wait).

Supercharger
An Axial Flow Supercharger. a.l.a. Richard Paul's little beastie. I think the 8 is more suited to this kind of F.I., and it should be a lot more drivable than with a turbo (or my understanding of a turbo). I (like a lot of other people) am eagerly awaiting this very much!!

And. How do you guys think this will all work togeather for road use?

Thanks, your opinions count...

Err ... I think if you use the supercharger , most likely you have to take out all the mods you listed before it , except the midpipe maybe and intake , but I am not sure. Definitely the ECU will have to be changed for the supercharger tho ....

OK heres my opinion... basically midpipe + any catback = too loud for most people. I would probably leave the stock exhaust get the canzoomer midpipe, (more HP gains than catback) and not worry about the ecu (most FI kits include this), forget about the intake also (FI will replace this typically too). So pretty much the canzoomer midpipe then wait for your FI. If your itching to do things while waiting for the FI kits to be developed/released, just work on suspension mods. You can never handle too well.

Thanks Potent. I'm actually looking at replacing the tips of my muffler now. It's only a couple of months old, and it seems a shame to replace it for little or no power gain. The high flow cat sounds like the option for me. I'll try and get some pics on the site of the tips etc.. when it's done.

how much is for the canzoomer mid pipe and how does it compare to the B&B mid pipe ?
