Pineapple Racing piggy back

i had a chance to meet Rob Golden of Pineapple Racing on saturday and talked with him briefly about the rx-8. he mentioned that they are working "with someone" to produce a piggy back ecu mod for the RX-8. it will be a multi map unit. One of the maps will be setup to work with a turbo with 6lbs of boost.

he wouldn't say much else or really speculate on the power increases but said it will be available in march. one of the things he did mention was trying to turn down the heat, especially in the upper rpms. they aren't worried abotu breaking apex seals,he said, as much as warping them. causinga drop in hp.

they will have one out for the mazdaspeed protege this month.

What if I wanted 11-13 psi? I know that it will need to come out before anyone can answer that but 6 psi isn't very much boost. I think stock in my MR2 was 9 psi. And in my Audi A4 (which is pretty woosy) is like 7 psi. If the Audi weren't my wife's car it would have the Neuspeed chip and more boost.

Sorry i don't have much more info. but from the short conversation i got that he was concerned about heat warping the apex seals, so perhaps they are limiting themselves to 6psi until they find another way around the heat. i got that this is a first step and meant to be a bolt on plug and play kinda thing. then maybe they will go the next step once they start putting in bigger/better seals and seeing what the can do.
