This is Rick Shaw's unit. You are getting confused with Canzoomer's ECU piggyback.

ohhh sorry, how is the performance increase with this unit? and how much? and does it involve cutting cables?

yes this is the windows adjustable fuel/ignition unit .it will fit in battery box or maybe in ecu box if air cooler inside is removed. yes you have to cut and splice wires. this is very easy to do. it has a base tune but i will not quote dyno figures as they are misleading.the unit is smaller than it looks.

No one has published a proven method of reliably dynoing an RX-8 from my experience.
Even "removing the sensors" and hurry up and get it done within 30 seconds is not acceptable from my point of view. And Rick won't publish any figures that he can't back up. I believe this gives him much credibility. I can't imagine how difficult it must be in releasing a product when you own your own dyno, and not be able to release reliable measurements. I also believe there could be more to safe mode than just getting the PCM to think all the wheels are spinning at the same speeds. Cheers, Hymee. |
Why is it not acceptable? I've yet to see a dyno run take over 30 seconds, so I see no reason for that to invalidate the results.
At the very least, some kind of in-car dyno comparison would be useful, G-Tech or something. They're not all that reliable either, but you can get an idea. jds |
