performance parts

ya i was just wondering what were all the performance parts you can do to an rx8 i know theres the exhaust, cat, mid pipe, pullys, cold air, but what else is there that you can do to an 8 , also ive seen aftermarket throttle bodies you can get but alot of you have to weld on is there any performance once you dont have to weld?

Pretty much anything you can upgrade will have small if any gains. Midpipe is an exception, that gives a good gain I think its between 5 hp and 10 hp. You really cant see any good gains short of putting a turbo/supercharger in.

You might consider doing some suspension mods to the car though, play on its strong suits. You should be able to feel a good difference depending what you add, check the suspension forum for more info.

not true. just because you swap or add on a part that is not oem doesnt guarantee a gain, if any at all.

an example of this would be some intakes out there for the 8.

I second this. Logged on after two days, seen a ton of noob threads even though all the answers are on the site already.

Thats exactly what I said in my post? :dunno: "small if any" gains would imply a small gain, maybe 1 hp but maybe 0.

Why waste money on parts that doesn't even gain enough hp to improve performance...jeeezzz

Some people out there like to think the part gives some some boost, so they buy it. They might also want the look of the aem cai in the engine bay, who knows. The only engine mods I plan on doing are exhaust and midpipe and maybe the rb revi duct.
