Parts

Hey what performance parts would anyone want if you could get the right price? Start posting the brand & what the part is & will see what the best price we can do is. Also if there are alot of people wanting the same thing then I will put together a group buy

turbo, supercharger, headers....

davefzr 09-22-2004 03:35 PM

Yeah.. I think thats mainly everyones focus now.. All of the other parts are pretty much tapped out for people who have been modifying their cars now for a while..

Supercharger, turbo, headers..... Same for me.

Though thats not really who your targeting with this thread..

but anyway...

ashmason 09-22-2004 03:40 PM

Chassis bracing....no preference on brand so long as the price is right and it works :D

monzter 09-22-2004 04:30 PM

Pulleys and Flywheels are next for me. Unless there's a good GB on someone's midpipe.

steve@vivid 09-22-2004 04:33 PM

no, this is good to know if nobody is interested in whats available, new parts need to be created. So this brings me to the next problem, finding someone in the Phoenix area willing to have R&D done on their car (we would use one of 2 of the best fabricators in AZ one of which designed the turbo kit for Lisa Kubos Pro drag Saturn). The R&D would go something like this: first the header would get designed for the NA stock set up (this would take 1 to 2 weeks) then if the same person were willing or someone else we would then fab the turbo kit (3 to 4 weeks) the only problem I can conceive is that how is the renisis going to take to forced induction?

Nemesis8 09-22-2004 04:44 PM

Headers by Charles Hill
Intake Manifold by Charles Hill
Pulleys by cortc
Mid Pipe by SR and CZ
Catback by RB

That leaves superchargers, big brakes, 4-point harness sets, roll bars, ecu/pcm maps, etc.

Rxdriftingaction 09-22-2004 04:47 PM

I want bodykits(auto exe) and turbo.. (superchager?!..not much power produce)nvm

whosyourbaba 09-22-2004 04:53 PM

o yea, a flywheel too. :)

Synistyr 09-22-2004 04:56 PM

Any working forced induction!

alex 09-22-2004 05:00 PM

Porting Stencils/templates -- anyone
Intake -- RB
Intake manifold -- anyone

flywheels seem to be of interest would doing the clutch @ the same time be of interest?

Astor 09-22-2004 05:03 PM

RB Catback
Mazdaspeed flywheel

steve@vivid 09-22-2004 05:08 PM

I can probably whore out B&B mid pipes real cheap if people want those & I'll see what I can do about RB exhausts

zoom44 09-22-2004 05:23 PM

yeah clutch and flywheel at the same time=cool!

i dont see the point of doing one without the other. just save the money til you have enough for both.

punishr 09-22-2004 05:45 PM

definately clutch and flywheel.
to bad I don't live in Pheonix, I would gladly give you my car for R&D, for a turbo kit.

Midpipe from Rotary Performance w/O2 fooler and bolt and gasket kit.
Carbon interior pieces, and carbon fender vents would be awesome.
Barke rotors, prefer same size as stock, along with 4 piston calipers.
Front lip from Rmagic.
Side skirts from Auto Bahn Sports.
Rear Bumper from AutoEXE.
Pulleys
Front strut tower bar from CP-racing.

and finally either ECU from Ric Shaw, or a turbo or twin screw s/c kit with Ric Shaw ECU.

Any or All of these would be great.

steve@vivid 09-22-2004 05:45 PM

does anyone like the Espelir exhaust? I personally like its straight through design rather than the baffled mufflers that alot of the other exausts have

steve@vivid 09-22-2004 06:16 PM

I just got off the phone w/ my friend @ stoptech scince some of you seem interested in brake parts I got a pretty good price actually its a good enough discount that he doesn't want me to post the price. So if anyone is interested there were 2 kits in stock. PM or call me for the price

also I will start a group buy on Agency Power pullies next Mon or Tues when I get an ETA on when the first batch is going to be ready (probably will be ready to ship in the next 3-4 weeks)

flywheel has possitive effect as the only mod. how can a clutch help along with that?
(while the rest of the car is still stock)

lighter pulleys (not underdriven) help performance? can someone see better results in a dyno?

--->All MS parts...

My point was if you are going to bother pulling the tranny off you may as well also do the clutch if you can get one @ the right price if you dont want to do the clutch you may as well wait to do the flywheel maybe I'm just lazy and don't like doing the same work twice if I don't have to

The idea of a lightened pulley is to take away some of the reciprocating mass off the engine thus making it a little more efficiant it doesn't add a single BHP it just takes a couple of hp that were being used to turn the heavier pullies and sends that power to the wheels so you can gain WHP

One word: gearing.

See if you can get with a good transmission shop and find out what's going out on the transmissions. A kit to beef up the gearbox would be cool, maybe even throw in an (optional) taller 6th gear. And/or a ring and pinion set for the rear end. I'm not even sure there IS a ring/pinion set out there yet come to think of it.

Granted, the transmissions only go out with extreme launches. But still...extreme launches on a bone stock car are necessary just to get the already modest numbers. And when people start putting on FI kits in the next year...there's going to be a market for tranny improvements, I'd imagine. (Did Ito ever solve his recurring problems with the transmission?) People are probably getting them fixed under warranty for now, so maybe this is more of a long-term project. Of course, once someone installs FI Mazda is going to void the drivetrain warranty...

If you had a gearset or whatever today, you'd have a monopoly...and then the next Miata is coming out in a couple years and will use the same transmission (err, I think).

vinix 09-23-2004 09:40 AM

I would really like some rotors from rotora...mazdaspeed front and rear sway bars....oh and more to come :D

shelleys_man_06 09-23-2004 09:55 AM

I want a good deal on a GT35R with a 1.06 A/R turbine. :)

sea-rx8 09-23-2004 10:30 AM

Intake......RB
headers would be cool
MS flywheel
ECU....RB.....when done :D

sea-rx8 09-23-2004 10:42 AM

As far as the clutch........

The reason I want the MS flywheel is because of the warranty issue.

If MS came out with a heavy duty clutch I would do both at the same time.....other wise I will do the flywheel and wait for the clutch to go...or start to go out.

With it being a new car....I want the tranny under warranty for as long as possible, and I think an aftermarket clutch could void it......but let me know if I'm wrong.
