Sweet - sounds like your getting excited

Take some good shots of the heat sheild they welded on it for me. You might also have an O2 bung welded into before you install it. Just plug the bung until you need it later on down the road.

Yeah it already has he O2 bung in it. I am not sure exactly what you mean by the above statement. Why wouldnt you plug the O2 sensor in?

I think he is talking about a second o2 bung, in case you want to attach a wideband AFR or EGT gauage later.

Personally i wouldnt bother, and would just take out my o2 sensor whenever i wanted to plug the wideband in... its just personal preference. But, whenever you do take out your o2 sensor... expect a CEL very soon.

I'm considering purchasing a high-flow cat from Rotary Performance in the next month or two. From what ive seen here this is their "new" model right?

Looks quite nice - one question (since im a n00b when it comes to modifying any performance aspect of our 8's) This high flow cat has all the "ports" so you can plug in the o2 sensors and such right? My main concern is not throwing a CEL when i have this baby installed.

Cheers
Jeff

I received the product last night and the welds for the high flow cat look really good. Much better than the SR Motorsports version of this product.

I'll post up some pictures of it tonight... My only concern are the welds for the heat shield. It's attached at 4 points to the pipe, but these 4 points are not that large. I hope it doesnt cause an issue in the future.

I bet you could not break those welds if you hit them with a hammer

I wouldn't bet on it... mine had a broken weld when I received it. Do yourself a favor davefzr and cut the heat shield off before you install it:

Where did you purchase the resonator from and who installed it for you?

Or have it welded better - the sheild should stay in place

farting silk and have a very loud exhaust..

I decided to go with the Random Technology resonator instead of the Dynomax Bullet. It's perforated unlike the Dynomax unit and also has a high temperature heat resistant insulation material that wont breakdown over time.

Also, this unit is 14 inches long (the Dynomax was 12 and a straight through design) and will provide much more insulation...

This 14" unit should hopefully provide me with much more sound deadening results than the other unit....

haha.. You would try and quiet this sucker down as much as I am trying to if you heard it. I am sure that your experiencing the same thing because you and I have similar setups.

It's just way too loud for me. This is a daily driver and I have to consider that as well...

I should apologize now to all of the people out there that have a loud exhaust.. It's not for me, but I still want the flow.

If I get 90% of the flow that I did without the resonator, then i'll be happy. This setup (RP Supercat and TurboXS exhaust) is freaking loud!!

I should be able to get you a sound clip before I install the resonator...

I'll work on it. The main problem for me is between 1,500 and 4,800... It sounds very raspy and to use the words of others.. A swarm of angry bumble bees...

It's not good.. trust me

I know it will be "freakin loud" but all I care is perfomance. Maybe resonator and silencers would help much. If not, I stay only with exhaust. Anyway give us sound clip with resonator and without. Thx.

i was planning on leaving my motor basically stock. however im considering this piece because i hear a high flow cat will make a big difference. will this go well with the stock exhaust system? i like the idea of a few horses and the weight savings.

Has anyone actually lost power with this or any highflow cat? Maybe low rpm loss of power?
