Need info about Canzoomer versions
Ok, I used the search and couldn't find the answer. I bought my 8 a couple of months ago and I’m not familiar with the history of Canzoomer. I notice some people talk about Canzoomer 1.1.
Was there a 1.0 version?, What is the difference between 1.0 and 1.1?, Are there newer versions?, What are the differences?. Is it worth it to buy an older version (then applying the resistor modification)?, What about firmware update? Is there something the older versions coudn't do as opose to the newer versions? I was reading also the info from http://tyrannical.org/page-15. |
Stage 1 1.0 has only fuel control, no ignition
Stage 2 1.0 had ingition and fuel control -- this was never sold 1.1 Combined the Previous 2 stages and was sold at the same price at the 1.0 stage 1 Stage 3 added a profec e-01 controller screen to the canzoomer and gave you the ability to load maps via a CF card ...on a side note, all these emanage, safc, XEDE etc systems do is modify the MAF signal to trick the ECU into injecting less or more fuel. eventually the LTFT or a dealer reflash will override any changes youve made. very dangerous with a turbo. |

So you mean that the canzoomer is useless for close loop operation (O2 monitoring), right? But it should help for open loop operation, right?. So, all the canzoomer is doing is changing the MAF transfer funtion??? Is there a emanage that actually changes the fuel maps inside the ECU? |
completely useless in closed loop, very flaky even in open loop
the emanage doesnt, and i don't know of anything on the market that reflashes the ECU. it can be done, because thats what your dealer does when they recalibrate your ECU. racing beat was looking into that option, but they claimed only a handful of HP gained. |

For close loop, the ECU would compensate for the MAF reading with the STFT & LTFT based on the O2 sensor feedback, which means I would notice power gain right after plugging in the canzoomer, but that power gain would go away after few miles. For open loop, the ECU would compensate for the MAF reading with the OLFM, which is based on the LTFT. That means, I would notice power gain at WOT right after plugging in the canzoomer, then the WOT power gain would go away few miles later, and eventually I would lose power based on the enrichment of the LTFT affecting the OLFM at WOT   :( |
if you avoid tuning in the closed loop areas, the ecu does not compensate for the adjustments. I have proved this after a year of use now....

I agree... I have been running CZ for over a year, and my LTFT is still 0%.
