Its great for water cooling a turbo.

heating up your throttle body with 200F coolant is awesome.

Ive done it. I live in Texas and after doing it, Im glad I did it.

The car feels a bit more responsive. Of course dont think its going to come out of the box like a Lambo after doing this...

thanks for input, anyone else done this?
what kind of negative effects can or will this have?

eviltwinkie 05-10-2008 11:03 AM

It just prevents the "warmed up" loss of HP...if you live in a place where freezing temps are normal...you want to leave this in place...

heyarnold69 05-10-2008 11:12 AM

so in ny .. leave, not leave, what?

alnielsen 05-10-2008 04:01 PM

Make the conversion in late spring and revert to normal in the fall.

No...unless it freezes and the TB gets stuck...heh

Done it last year and had it through the NJ winter with no issues. There is no liquid inside the TB, hence nothing to freeze and get stuck. And if it gets stuck, you need to clean the carbon deposits there and has nothing to do with the mod.

Yep im doing this Monday once i get back to my shop =]

the kit comes in but im replacing it with a silicone hose

The TB heater prevents TB icing, which can happen much easier than people think, so use discretion with such a mod.

Yeah you dont want to be late for work or something important and then your car just stalls on ya

I'm going to do a writeup on how to route your exhaust through your throttle body, for those of us living in alaska.
