Need Help! Throttle body bypass..who has done this?
Its great for water cooling a turbo.
heating up your throttle body with 200F coolant is awesome.
Ive done it. I live in Texas and after doing it, Im glad I did it.
The car feels a bit more responsive. Of course dont think its going to come out of the box like a Lambo after doing this... |
thanks for input, anyone else done this?
what kind of negative effects can or will this have? |
It just prevents the "warmed up" loss of HP...if you live in a place where freezing temps are normal...you want to leave this in place...
so in ny .. leave, not leave, what?
Make the conversion in late spring and revert to normal in the fall.
any problems w check engine lights? or anything else? thanks for the input, noob out!

Done it last year and had it through the NJ winter with no issues. There is no liquid inside the TB, hence nothing to freeze and get stuck. And if it gets stuck, you need to clean the carbon deposits there and has nothing to do with the mod.
Yep im doing this Monday once i get back to my shop =]
the kit comes in but im replacing it with a silicone hose |

The TB heater prevents TB icing, which can happen much easier than people think, so use discretion with such a mod.

i wonder if soemone can come up with a temp bypass with like 2 valves...... for us northeners lol
I'm going to do a writeup on how to route your exhaust through your throttle body, for those of us living in alaska.
