Misc. Questions

What's up,

This is my first post on this forum and I'm just looking for some technical expertise. I'm 15 and hoping to buy an 8 in Jan. 2005(my b-day). Anyways, I just wanted to see what you guys think will need to be done to the engine before running high levels of boost and maybe some n20. Do you suggest any new seals? Is the tranny going to hold up? Can the rev-limit easily be changed? If it is changed, will a center bearing be necessary to run high RPMs? Any help will be greatly appriciated.:)

One more thing, I love the smooth sound of the exhaust on the 8, but it is too low of a pitch for my liking. Is there a way to get a higher pitch without restricting flow? I'm looking for more of a two-stroke sound than a muscle car sound.

the renesis can only hold 5-6psi. to go any further your going to have to do serious work. no one has done it yet, this motor is too new. if you looking for something you can bolt 100hp onto, this isnt the car for you. the tranny is notoriously weak, the member on this board with the lowest ET blew his tranny up doing it, and he was stock.

and I think 9000 rpm is high enough for anyone. power drops off after 8500 anyway.

Cool, thanks for the feedback....anyone got any ideas on what needs to go on with serious modding to get the engine to acommodate for lots of detonation(hopefully not though), and to just create a strong base to work off of? BTW, is anyone talking of coming out with a crate motor yet?

Don't worry....

Be patient, new stuff is coming out every week for the '8.

I see LOTS of detonation AND a crate motor in your future.
