Midpipe and cat.

So i got a an 06 RX8 with an AEM cold air, and I'm planning on putting a full exhaust system on it - headers, midpipe, and exhaust. I'm planning on getting the Greddy exhaust and the Racing Beat headers, my only concern is the midpipe. I've been reading a lot about how they add a nice tone to the exhaust, how they give a little extra power, and how illegal catless midpipes are how much they smell. So I was wondering if it could buy like a straight midpipe and buy a Pypes high-flow-cat, and weld them or something, i don't know. What are some other options i should consider??

There are midpipes with a high-flow cat already installed. The BHR midpipe has a cat option, there is the RP supercat, if you want a seemingly bullet proof cat then go with an HJS cat and weld it into a midpipe but they are like ~$600 just for the cat.

The catless smell isn't that bad to me, I actually enjoy it as do many others. You can pass vegas emissions without a cat if you need to, there is a whole thread on how to do that in DIY I think. Yes it is illegal but you really do not hear about people getting caught for it. When I get my emissions done it smells like I have no cat but they never say anything to me.

Okay, thanks. The HJS cat sounds like a good idea! I don't mind spending more money if its gonna be worth it!
And no, man, I actually wrote this, I didn't know there was one similar? Haha.

Also look up posts by hiflite999 he says he has been using a $100 cat without any trouble for many miles now.
