Mazdaspeed Spoiler inquiry..

Hi, i purchased my black 8 dec, 03 and ready to get some addons : )

Anyways, before i purchase the mazdaspeed spoiler i need to know the specs of it (more like dimensions).

If you have it or know of a site that tells details such as how high it is off the trunk lid, if the trunk works fine after you install it, what exactly it means my "Adjustable".

Any and all information would be great, looking to get it VERY soon (just want to make sure it will not block my view)

For any of you who have it and are responding please tell me if it does block your view in the rear.

Thank you, look forward to your posts!

The trunk works just fine. It is adjustable (3-way) -- adjusts the angle of the wing based on speed. -- takes about 5 minutes to remove the bolts and change the angle -- unless you are running at a high speed track you will probably never need to change from the standard setting.

I didn't measure specifically but I would say that it sits up about 6 inches. There is (of course) some obstruction of rear view -- not really a big deal. You can see below the wing and then there is a small obstruction of the wing's side and then you see over the wing. Hasn't really bothered me at all -- I think the stock wing is worse in that it obstruct a portion of the bottom view -- with the MS wing it is more like a line about 1/3 of the way down your field of vision -- you see below and above the wing.

p.s. -- I recommend Trussville if you don't already have a vendor lined-up. Ask for free shipping and you should get it.

how much did you pay?

whom would you recomment for clear corner lenses/alum gas cover?

All I'm going to say is it's starting to become a pet peeve when people ask questions without a) bothering to do a search to see if it's already been discussed or b) bothering to do easy research themselves (like calling a company for price quotes).

I'm willing to help people but not when they're too lazy to help themselves.

So if you can't take the time to reply to his message, why take the time to post "search for it" ? That always gets me!

For clear corners check ebay, about 60 bucks... every else is 70.

monte 03-23-2004 06:31 PM

yes i already have.

however no dealership could tell me specs on the spoiler because "we've never seen it on the car in real life"

It's not that I don't want to spend time replying to his message. It's that I don't want to repeat what has been said before ad naseum.

Whether the trunk works fine, how it's adjustable, does it block the rear view, how much it costs--all those questions have been answered before.

So what's my take-home message? Learn how to search and if you can't find what you're looking for mention what search parameters you used so people like me will cut you some slack. That should be part of a newbie faq if it isn't already.

Does anyone know if you can remove the stock wing and install the Mazdaspeed wing using the same mounting holes/bolts? It looks like there are only 4 bolts holding the stock wing on.Thanks in advance for any information on this.

You know, I have a feeling I'm going to say "try searching the forums first stupid" a lot.

D3G 03-24-2004 07:28 PM

Why must you call people names? I did do a search and found some information on my questions. And I did all my searchs before I made the post. I just thought maybe some would have more information besides what I found.

What did I say in the post immediately before yours? Learn how to search and if you can't find the info you want mention your search parameters so people like me will cut you some slack. You didn't do either.

Doing a quick search on "mazdaspeed spoiler" turns up two relevant threads. One of them asks the exact same question you asked and an answer was given there.

If you read my post you would see that I did find the same 2 threads and I will say it again as I originaly did. "I just thought maybe some would have more information besides what I found" like bolt patterns or additional pictures. I should be able to ask questions and not worry about people like you who want to complain just because someone doesn't mention thier "search parameters". Gawd get a life. This is a Forum!

I have learned one thing tho and thats to just ignore jerks like you.

PUR NRG 03-25-2004 10:33 AM

Here's where I call bull. If you found those threads then why did you repeat the question Dongwhi asked? And why did you post your question to this thread instead of that one where it would be more appropriate?

You're free to ask whatever questions you want where ever you want. Just don't expect good answers doing what you do now.

You older members don't have to be such assholes to the new guys you know that? If someone is posting something that has been asked, JUST DONT ANSWER THEM!!!! Their fault for not searching but you guys don't need to be asses about it.

Shocka 04-02-2004 03:47 PM

I don't do it because I have to. I do it because I want to. Just like I help out other people because it's something I want to do.

Point of note: I was not being an asshole to monte who started this thread. I (politely) mentioned his answers would have been provided with a search and that all newbies should remember to do that before asking a question. Better newbies know why they aren't getting an answer rather than feeling they're ignored.

I was also politely answering your original messages. It was D3G who jumped in with a redundant question that I even obliquely referred to as stupid, since he didn't take the hint about searching first before posting a question that had already been answered.

Regardless, this is a (relatively) free forum. You're free to express your dislike of me, just as I'm free to express my dislike of people too lazy or ignorant to help themselves prior to asking others to help them. 'Nuff said.

Ok Ok Ok, I usually ignore irritating posts, but I have to say something. PUR NRG, you are a f-n jerkoff. You spend more time being a dick than it takes to answer the mans questions. Prick!
