Mazdaspeed Clutch and Flywheel

I did a search, but cant find anyone who has both installed.

Just wondering, if you have it, can you try to explain the feel after its installed ?

Ok lets say

Is it good for a Daily Driver?
Is it heavy ?
Is it easy to use ?

Stuff like that, you know.

Cause I was thinking of going with Mazdaspeed products for now, if its good enough for me, I'll stay and wont go too far. Since I know Mazdaspeed stuff is pretty good in quality. (Just not the price)

If its not good enough. I can always replace it with another one.

Thanks

I second this question, as this is what search turned up...

this could well be my christmas present to myself, as i wait for superchargers....

I have both installed - the flywheel is great, hardly any change in driving habits needed.

But the MS clutch is definitely harder to use - engagement point is much sharper, and some judder when taking off until you get use to it. Most difficult when you are starting off on an incline - mine had the clutch burning smell when I overreved and slipped the clutch!

Fast gear changes are smoother though. Oh and its good for building up your left leg muscles...

do you notice the diference in how it revs with the flywheel?

And how long does it take to install, so my garage dont try and rob me, if i get it....

The only reason for the clutch was my future supercharger, in case it needs a stronger one, but i guess i can stay standard and only change if i need it....

When I got my flywheel install the difference wasn't super crazy, but it revs even smoother and a lot quicker. Don't have to downshift to really accelerate, makes the car a lot more responsive instead of feeling like you're stepping on a sponge.

installation isn't cheap, requires dropping the transmission which is a chore and at least a 3-4 hour job. Got mine done for $380 but mazda quoted me $600.00.

I double what izoomzoomi said. I drove his car before and after he had it install. I could definitely tell a difference in the way it revved. I thought it revved smoother, quicker, and like he was saying, seemed more responsive. It almost seemed like the car lost some weight, especially when comparing it to my car. I think its a mod well worth doing. Yes, he has the MS flywheel.
