MazdaSpeed Calipers on sale in Japan?

I found this while serving the net in Yahoo Japan...

It is a 4 pot caliper as intended from the magazine. It can be used with standard rotor and pad.

They look the same as the OEM, doesn't it?

OEM is only a single piston if I am not mistaken. Maybe it is a two piston, but definitly not four. The stock are considered floating calipers since they only have a piston on one side where as these are fixed since they have pistons on both sides.

If I am seeing correct that is a proper 4 piston road car caliper unlike 95% of the crappy big brake kits on the market. Why?

1. The caliper pistons have dust boots. This is very important to reduce piston/bore wear but will only pay dividends after some miles have accumulated. Most all aftermarket big brake kits use racing calipers which do not have/need dust boots since they are designed for running only ~1k miles between maintenance cycles.

2. I think I can barely see some anti-rattle springs. I don't like adding noise.

Taka - is this a kit for sale at auction? I cannot read Japanese! I agree, it would be better RED.

The 6 pot calipers I see is 3 pot each side and the 4 pots are 2 pot each side. I said it is 4 pot prob have 2 pot each side then...

OEM has a big 1 pot.

It is in auction in Japan... do they look genuine though... i guess they are selling INGs+1 kit and other MazdaSpeed stuff.. it is unlikely fake.

Anyway I like it blue rather than red or yellow.

OEM is single, I will take a set in silver... I wonder if they fit without brackets? Taka: Is the sale still on? And do they say if they are factory Mazdaspeed?

takahashi 07-11-2004 11:54 PM

Reading the description more closely. I doubt very much of that are from MazdaSpeed calipers... I made this thread to tease you guys.

Those calipers are for Z32s --- they are said to fit on RX-8...

;)

There are many rice stuff from Japan --- so beware!

i found an auction in japan for the same thing in red but it was labeled for the RX7. I have a contact in japan and he said that there is no mazdaspeed caliper offered for the RX8 as of yet, on the prototype car they show a blue set with the logo on them but they are a one-off set made for that car only.

I am half good in Japanese... or I am just plain lazy not to read the details... ;)

You are right, I don't think it is out yet but I cannot be far away! :D
